Tropical Storm Harvey projected to become 'major hurricane' (1 Viewer)

Now they are saying it is will most likely head up to PA and visit me. Of course it will only be a remnant of a hurricane then. But Agnes was only a remnant of hurricane that destroyed much of PA.

It'll just be rain if it makes it that far.

That is all that was left of Agnes when it destroyed most of NE PA.

Didn't Agnes make landfall in Maryland? There's a lot of trees, mountains and dirt between Port Arthur, Tx and Pennsylvania.

Agnes went from the gulf across Florida and up the East Coast actually back out into the Atlantic then came back in around Maryland, and PA.

The problem was it was pulling moisture out of the Atlantic and dumping it in the mountains swelling the Susquehanna river over the dikes. I think Agnes killed over 100 people. I was a teenager and we lived on a hill overlooking the river. I had a perfect view of the flooding. I had relatives that had 18' to 20' of water at their house. It completely submerged single story homes in some areas.
