In a series of tweets this month, Mr. Trump criticized Mr. McConnell publicly, then berated him in a phone call that quickly devolved into a profane shouting match.

During the call, which Mr. Trump initiated on Aug. 9 from his New Jersey golf club, the president accused Mr. McConnell of bungling the health care issue. He was even more animated about what he intimated was the Senate leader’s refusal to protect him from investigations of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to Republicans briefed on the conversation.
Can he smell Mueller getting closer?
Man what a mess he has made.

Trump has **** on so many would be allies in the beltway. It's his first year politicking and boy does it show.

Fake News. trump says so

Seems that WashPo and the Grey lady have broke a number of stories that were later found to be well grounded in fact.

I told everyone who would listen that nothing good would ever come out of last years election. Regardless of who won. I think as time goes by I am being proved right.

All downhill from here.
And a long way to the bottom.
History will not treat trump kindly.

But Obama. He orchestrated Charlottesville .. according to some Republican state senator.

Gradual decline versus precipitous fall. Guess which one I chose?

Exactly. Trump started it off by creating so many meaningless feuds in the primaries, McCain, Cruz, Rubio, Bushes, Romney, and more. Trump even started a feud with Fox News. Then he creates more once he has been elected. It does seem Trump is reaping what he sowed. Call it karma.

Either way, it is just a matter of time. As the mid terms close in, watch for more and more GOP congressmen distancing themselves from him. That rarely works as the first midterm is a referendum on the president. At 38% nationally per RCP averages and 34% among independents, that isn't good. One must remember Trump started at at 48% among Independents and it's been downhill since then.

McConnell & the rest of the GOP can go **** themselves ............ they made the choice to go with Trump; grow a set & be a man McConnell, you ***** ............

The people have spoken. All of this internecine political intrique is nothing more than burlesque to entertain the idiot proletariat. You know, you dudes out there who believe the WWF is real.

Here's what's really happening: the GOP is fundraising at a rate twice that of their nearest competitor. Come back and tell us how bad President Trump is doing after the upcoming 2018 Midterms. In the real world where people actually work and take care of their property, communism and socialism are being flushed with regularity down the toidy of Liberal Stupidity.

What will the lottery numbers be this week?

I never play the lottery. But to be honest, all one had to do last year was take good look at the candidates the two major parties offered. It wasn't rocket science that to come to the conclusion that nothing good would come out of that election.

Jobs, The Stock Market, The VA Hospitals, dramatically reducing illegal immigration aren't good? It is nice to know that you dislike our country that much.

OMG, what a mess the RADICAL left is trying to make, this is total and complete BS and one has to wonder why? What exactly has Trump done to create this kind of hatred on the part of the left?

Why are you bringing up your delusions of saboteurs in a thread about the relationship between the leader of the Republican Senate, Mitch McConnel and the Republican President? The left? It's the left's fault? That's what you're goin with?

Always the former. The latter almost never concerns me.

Well, that's not easy. Gradual decline means every step down is normalized. A precipitous fall can mean outrage and a demand to return to the former status quo. I would argue that what we are experiencing right now is the former, due only to the fact that a Republican Congress is demanding we live with what's happening. What is happening has already begun to be normalized, as people are now claiming that what Trump does is, in fact, entirely normal. This is actually something of a new development.

I think my personal history speaks to what I think of our country. Now as for political candidates which has nothing to do with liking or disliking one's country. I thought both major party candidates were the pitts last year, that neither belonged within a million miles of the Oval office. I voted accordingly out of love for this nation.
