WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s job approval rating in three key states that helped propel him to the White House — Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — stands below 40 percent, according to a trio of NBC News/Marist polls. In addition, Democrats enjoy double-digit leads in Michigan and Pennsylvania on the question of which party voters prefer to control Congress after the 2018 midterms, and they hold an 8-point advantage in Wisconsin. In all three states, more than six in 10 voters say Trump’s conduct as president has embarrassed them, compared to just a quarter who have said it’s made them proud. These three NBC/Marist polls were conducted August 13-17 — after the Aug. 12 unrest and violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, and in the midst of Trump’s multiple responses to the events.

In Michigan, 36 percent of voters approve of Trump’s job performance (including 19 percent who strongly approve), while 55 percent disapprove (including 40 percent who strongly do). In Pennsylvania, 35 percent give the president’s job a thumbs up (17 percent strongly), versus 54 percent who disapprove (41 percent strongly). And in Wisconsin, 34 percent of voters approve of Trump (17 percent strongly), compared with 56 percent who disapprove (42 percent strongly). Asked if Trump’s conduct as president made them proud or embarrassed them, 64 percent of voters in Michigan and Wisconsin say they’ve been embarrassed, while 63 percent say that in Pennsylvania. Ahead of next year’s midterm elections, the polls show that 48 percent of Michigan voters prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, versus 35 percent who prefer a Republican-controlled one. In Pennsylvania, Democrats hold a 10-point advantage on congressional preference, 47 percent to 37 percent. And in Wisconsin, they have an 8-point edge, 46 percent to 38 percent.

Except for his hard-core 'dead-enders' Trumps popularity is plummeting with virtually every American demographic. Negative consequences for the GOP in the 2018 midterms are accelerating with breathtaking rapidity.

Soooo, pretty much around the same percentages who voted for him (of all those who actually voted)?

I don't know why the opposition keeps posting these figures as if to show something new. Seriously.

Not in the slightest, Griffith. He would lose those states by 10% each at least if the election were held on the day those numbers were valid.

Seriously

These states won't care about neo-nazis, russians, sentient evil statues or whatever other bogeyman liberals come up with if Trump delivers on jobs. If he doesn't, then nothing will save him.

For heavens sakes man - did you even read the actual numbers and apply them to those three states and compare them to the vote Trump got there????? :doh:roll:

If the election were today - Trump WOULD LOSE those states and not win in the EC.

Good heavens!!!!! :roll::shock:

^^^ It has always been about the workers' hopes for jobs in those states. Does anyone see any of the thousands and thousands and thousands that were promised for those states?

Since Trump won our state and the Electoral College and took over on January 20th, out fair state has become a workers paradise. Wages have risen almost an additions $12 per hour while 87.4% of employers now pay for a forty hour week while the worker actually puts in only thirty hours. Vacation time has been doubled in most work places and benefits even at fast food jobs have improved greatly with McDonalds workers getting things like gym memberships, legal insurance, and even a nanny allowance.

All this sounds great but the really amazing thing is that Trumps policies have created jobs that were once a thing of the past. A new barrel factory has opened and all those old 19th century jobs have returned in massive numbers. Up in the upper peninsula they have found lots of iron and copper reserves nobody knew were still there and seven different mines have opened employing thousands of miners at excellent wages. Three shopping malls that were teetering not he edge of closure under Obama are now doing a booming business and four new ones are on the drawing board to be opened later this year.

Its just amazing here and all due to President Donald Trump!!!!!!

;)

Whats the deal with calling me odd names? Can't respond without using offensive labeling so just throwing out random names like "Mike" and "Griffith" is your space filler?

Actually I did, did you?

Take a look from the article:

In Michigan, voters by a 42-to-39 percent margin say the U.S. economy has been strengthened by Trump’s decisions as president. In Pennsylvania, it’s 45 percent to 38 percent. And in Wisconsin, it’s dead even at 41 percent each.

Those three states voted on the ECONOMY, or did you forget that?

Their transient "feelings" about being proud notwithstanding.

This is an example of twisting information to suit your purposes. Just because "feelings" is more important to YOU than economics? That doesn't make much difference when it comes to people in economically depressed states seeking economic improvement.

IMO if the election were held today he would still win those states by the same narrow margins and for the same reasons you on the Left keep ignoring; i.e. putting food on the table beats feelings any day of the week.

Why are you focusing on a tree instead of the forest?

Why are you focusing on a tree instead of the forest?

Simply because (to use your own phrase) people vote on which TREES are most important to each of them.

I voted on the "Trees" of the 2nd Amendment, Economy, anti-PC, anti-SJW, Pro-America as oppose to socialist globalism, etc.; all the while knowing his faults.

It was that or vote Hillary (the opposite of my political views) or some third party "vanity" vote and waste it.

Okay - never mind. You and Trump and his people are right. Go on believing that he is doing just well and would still win those states today. In fact, double down join everything he has done and watch his approval ratings soar. And keep doing it right up to November of 2018.

Please continue to believe in Trump.

I could not ask for more.

Griffith does that type of thing. What he can't do is point to the thousands and thousands and thousands of jobs that are supposed to be there by now.

Right. The Democrats lost all three branches of government, most governors' mansions & statehouses. Trump is going to get at least one more Supreme Court pick which will make the Court lean conservative until you're an old man.

And you breathlessly report poll numbers but I haven't heard a single lefty show me the Democrat candidate who's beating Trump in 2020. nobody under the age of 70 anyway. You think Pocahontas Warren or Michelle O is going to save the Democrats. sorry man, but you are the one who's dreaming. in reality, the left is screwed and you know it.

Why does it have to be somebody under 70 when Trump himself exceeds that age?

And yes, state legislatures all over America have been held by the GOP - the wonders of gerrymandering when you win the election that ends in the numeral ZERO!!!!!

Right. The Democrats lost all three branches of government, most governors' mansions & statehouses.

In 2016, just over 4 million and 92 thousand Michigan voters cast ballots for their Representative the US house (not considering the small vote for third parties) and Republicans garnered 51.3% of those votes while the Democratic candidates garnered 48.3% of those votes.

Because of gerrymandering, the Republicans took 9 out of 14 seats while the Dems took 5 out of the 14 seats.

The Republicans got 51.3 % of the votes for the US House in Michigan but captured 64% of the seats.
The Dems got 48.7% of the peoples votes for the US House in Michigan but captured only 36% of the seats.

The power of gerrymandering.

Wisconsin's unemployment rate is 3.2%. Michigan's is 4.7% and Pennsylvania's is 4.9%. Jobs aren't really the problem.

Who are you guys going to put up against him in 2020, assuming Trump makes it that far? If it's another Hillary, then NO, you don't have it in the bag, no matter how bad Trump is. Yes, I understand that you are angry at Trump. What I don't understand is how your side could have put up a candidate that flopped against him. Yes, Hilary was a horrible candidate. Blame yourselves for Trump's victory. For crying out loud, a retarded ape could have beaten him, and you nominated Hilary. LOL.

Well, his whole premise for job creation was a farce - cut taxes and the jobs will return. Taxes is not why manufacturing jobs left the rust belt. So, he is going to fail on that one.

In 2012, Democrats running for the HoR scored 1 million votes than the Republicans but did not win the house. The very nature of "representative" failed.

As a Bernie Sanders supporter, I can agree with much you just said. But let us remember in the end that as bad of a candidate as Clinton was - she still got 2.8 MORE AMERICANS to vote for her than did vote for Trump. I also would have preferred Joe Biden at the top of the ticket.

Who will run in 2020? I imagine Warren and Sanders or even Biden. I see no fresh face on the horizon.

Awesome, so how is that going to affect the 2017 elections this fall? Oh, you mean there aren't any elections this fall? LOL, ok, well let's keep the fire of hatred burning while ignoring the good economic results being generated. Hatred is a very disturbing trait and remember well how the left demonized the radical right in their hatred for Obama so now apparently it is ok to do the same thing with regard to Trump as apparently two wrongs don't make a right but it is ok to have thread after thread demonizing the legally elected President of the United States.

Michigan and Pa have long been Democratic strong holds with major cities easily manipulated by the radical left. In the 2018 the American electorate is going to look at the economy and vote their pocketbooks again like they did in 2008 and 2016. Until the radical left actually crawls back into that roach hole they came from the changes of a Democratic takeover of Congress is slim and none
