The greatest thing Dick Gregory ever did was to single-handedly rescue the Pacifica Network from a management who wanted to sell it off to corporate interests. He wasn't just a comedian.

From CNN:

Comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory, who broke barriers in the 1960s and became one of the first African-Americans to perform comedy at white clubs, died Saturday. Dick Gregory, civil rights activist and comedian, dead at 84 - CNN

He was a person of immense personal integrity and an inspiring example of putting belief into action.

A great man who came up through a horrible time, his passing will be mourned, and his light will be missed.

He made me laugh and he also made me think.

RIP Mr. Gregory
