The story is from 1987 but it was just published by The Australian, a newspaper that belongs to some guy named Rupert Murdoch. This type of article coming from a well-known conservative media mogul when combined with all of the CEOs quitting Trump's "advisory" panels, just might be the beginning of the end for the Trumpster.

TRUMP'S ALLEGED "MAFIA CONNECTIONS" LOST HIM A BID TO BUILD SYDNEY'S FIRST CASINO

Australian authorities once rejected Donald Trump’s bid for a hotel casino in Queensland, stating such a project would be “dangerous” on account of “Trump Mafia connections,” it has emerged. Cabinet minutes and a secret police report dated 1987 and published Wednesday as part of an investigation by the News Corporation-owned newspaper The Australian cast a dark shadow over Trump’s business reputation.

The Kern/Trump bid was one of four under consideration, and one of three that was rejected following a Police Board investigation into all the bidders for the project, which was later abandoned.

“The board is firmly of the view that on tests of sound repute, probity and integrity, none of the three consortia discussed above (HKMS, Kern/Trump, Federal/Resort/Sabemo) can be considered acceptable; indeed each would be dangerous,” the Police Board found, according to a confidential New South Wales cabinet assessment obtained by The Australian.

“Atlantic City would be a dubious model for Sydney and in our judgement. The Trump Mafia connections should exclude the Kern/Trump consortium,” the document also stated.
(. . .)
Also quoted in the cabinet minutes, a report by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce also found that the Kern/Trump bid was only financially viable from a projected financial structure, but overestimated the projected casino revenue and the expected returns to equity investors.
I'm sure you all remember that Trump's Atlantic City casinos were all bankrupt by 1992.

Trump: "C'mon Australia, don't bust my balls over here!"

Trumps a money whore, what do you expect?

Only people who have never lived in New York City would think having "mob ties" in the construction business (or other blue collar work like trucking, garbage disposal, etc.) was either unusual or unnecessary.

If you wanted to build anything back in that day, you needed concrete, and the mob controlled all concrete. They also controlled almost all trucking, and had major influence if not outright control of many of the construction and service worker unions.

So yeah, Trump (and just about every other real estate investor) had "ties" to the mob, or else things didn't get built.

Is there any heinous **** Trump could involve himself in that you wouldn't be an apologist for?

True.

Stuff got done a lot faster too!

(Sigh) Not an "apology" just a fact of life...as you would know if you grew up in NYC like I did.

Also a valid response to another attack/troll thread. :coffeepap:

Lol. You have no f'ing clue where I grew up. Don't try to weasel out of answering my actual question.

I don't care where you grew up (just it can't be NYC if you don't know about mob control of construction back in the day).

As for your question? That's your opinion, not a fact. I respond factually even to troll threads, you can take it any way you wish.

Lol.....There is absolutely nothing you could teach me about LCN activities in the five boroughs, northern jersey, philly, providence, or Scranton/Wilkes barre. You are completely out of your depth discussing that topic with me. Maybe chicago if you are the expert on lcn you are presenting yourself as.

When the American people gave him the job, the probability of some connection to the Mafia of a nyc developer billionaire was well known to all. We discussed it here many times. But I guess warmed up leftovers are fine.

This is supposed to be within the last 48 hours. Gotta tell you, I've broken that rule before, but 1987 has got me beat by orders of magnitude. Thanx for taking the record for the oldest post in breaking news away from me. LMAO.

Edit - Oops, my bad. I see that it was just published. Duh.............. LOL.

So. Trump has worked with mobsters.

Surprise, surprise. Not. Hello? Russia?!?

Now, he has worked with politicians. I wonder who he thinks are the worst?

We should give The Donald the week off.
