Mattis Warns North Korea of Destruction of it's people

So maybe he should have given him a nuclear power plant.................oh never mind, that's been tried.

Thorium-232 reactors would have been better; no bomb grade material; no waste problem; far more Thorium reserves ;

Yeah, but they could have built Iron Man suits, and we didn't want that.

We're in the great transition between fossil and fusion, until another Einstein comes along with beyond fusion. Fusion reactors are currently ITER and W X-7, due to go on line next decade.

This transition will include cleaner fossil, wind, solar, safer fission. We need many grand Marshall plans on such issues as energy and infrastructure ...

It's fairly simple really. You either have to wait for the dictator to show true aggression against you or an ally and be ready to quickly defend and retaliate, or you have to wait for an indication that the people of his country themselves are standing up to and fighting for their own freedom and then you can consider helping to nudge them in the right direction.

What conservatives constantly fail to understand about a war or a fight is how important momentum is. You think because America is big or strong, we can just maul anybody, but if you get caught off balance a smarter opponent can toss you have way across the room. That is precisely the mistake America made early on in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that is why we're still struggling to win them. Trump is looking like he's stupid enough to make that same mistake again.
Proving you really don't know what you are taking about. The start of both the war in Afghanistan and Iraq were far and away the highlight of US military power that was displayed in those wars.
With months Special Forces teams and the Air Force drove the Taliban and AS out of Afghanistan and the US military completely annihilated the Iraqi military. There was absolutely no momentum needed for the destruction of both those countries fighting power. The failure in those wars was in the nation building effort. Had nothing whatsoever to do worth momentum.

That's awesome, I guess Clinton should have told NK to wait for better technology. :lol:

I try no to blame any president when it comes to foreign affairs, though I can fail also. It wasn't IKE's fault their nuke program started in 1956 and it wasn't GHWB's fault that the weapon's program started in 1989. I call it administration overlap, something ruthless dictators don't have to deal with ...

keeping the status quo and staying the course would have just been fine.

False. Which is why over a decade later we're still fighting both of those enemies. We drove them back, but have not really come close to finishing them off.

No it is 100 percent correct. The Taliban and AQ were driven out of Afghanistan within a matter of months. The Iraqi army was completely destroyed as a fighting force in a very short time. Those are facts. You not liking them doesn't change the fact that those things happened.

Just because we drove the Taliban out of Afghanistan does not mean they couldn't return. And you might want to check your facts. We haven't been fighting the iraqi army for a very long time.
The truth is you talked about things you really didn't understand and are now simply not willing to admit it.

Status quo is a mushroom cloud over some Asian country or US state.

That is not well thought out hyperbole. The saber rattling, and challenging an unstable person by another unstable person is more likely to cause a nuclear incident than the status quo.
