Lawsuit: Fox News concocted Seth Rich story with oversight from White House

The White House worked with Fox News and a wealthy Republican donor to push a story about the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, according to an explosive lawsuit filed Tuesday.


The story was pushed in an attempt to discredit the US intelligence community's determination that Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee and obtained the emails released by Wikileaks, the lawsuit said. The lawsuit, which was first reported by NPR, was filed in US District Court in the Southern District of New York. The plaintiff is Rod Wheeler, a Fox News contributor and former homicide detective hired to investigate Rich's death, who alleges that he was misquoted as part of the effort to put the story together. Douglas Wigdor, who is representing current and former Fox employees in other lawsuits against the network, is Wheeler's lawyer. 21st Century Fox, the Fox News Channel, Fox News reporter Malia Zimmerman and Republican donor Ed Butowsky are named as defendants. Butowsky denies the allegations in the lawsuit.


The lawsuit says in part, "The motivation behind the article: establish that Seth Rich provided WikiLeaks with the DNC emails to shift the blame from Russia and help put to bed speculation that President Trump colluded with Russia in an attempt to influence the outcome of the Presidential election. ... Zimmerman, Butowsky and Fox had created fake news to advance President Trump's agenda. Mr. Wheeler was subsequently forced to correct the false record and, as a result, lost all credibility in the eyes of the public. Mr. Wheeler has suffered irreparable damage to his reputation and his career will likely never recover."

Um, the Seth Rich narrative was around before the election. The White House complicit in pushing the story that his murder was politically motivated would have been Obama's.

Wasserman and her IT team. That is the only story the media should be lathered up over, but they are running from it like the plague.

The story in question was aired in May 2017.
 
If the courts are going to criminalize politicians lying we best all take a post, because all the politicians will be gone, nobody will be willing to serve with so many former politicians in jail.

Let's say this is true. This is 24/7/365 for the mainstream media for the past 40+ years. It's a coordinated scam.

Here's the only thing you need to know: the media has entirely ruined its credibility forever, and nobody will believe in the reporting of this or any story. They made that bed, and it's forever.

The media is the most distrusted entity on the planet to Americans. They're the same as ISIS and MS-13.

The "Seth Rich Was Murdered By Hillary" story popped up about, oh, 30 seconds after his body was found.

Trump's White House didn't invent the story. It existed months before the election... in fact, it predated the Russian Collusion story (in its current form).

Yes, you're asserting facts no one disputes. How do those facts relate to the lawsuit about a story in May 2017 that Fox ran with then repudiated just a few days later?
