Lawsuit: Fox News concocted Seth Rich story with oversight from White House

Re: A stunning new lawsuit filed against Fox News has placed the spotlight on a wealt

These juvenile attempts at deflection simply will not do. If you want to engage in an adult discussion, you're actually going to have to address the points being made. Do you have it within yourself to do that, or are drive-by one liners all you are capable of?

What makes Rod Wheeler a credible source in this case given the man's well documented past of peddling dis-information? Could you answer that, please?
You are juvenile? Only you can tell. Talk intelligently, quietly, and to the point, please.

When you let ideology run away with common sense, you make it hard to communicate with you.

Re: A stunning new lawsuit filed against Fox News has placed the spotlight on a wealt

I edited out the rest of your post because you, again, failed to address the point.

Rod Wheeler is the primary source for every allegation made by your OP source and you. This man was also the primary source for the Seth Rich story which landed Fox News in so much trouble. Why would you, CNN, or anyone else put any faith at all in these allegations being true?

Are you going to address that question or are you going to continue to dance around it?

I don't care what Rod Wheeler said. It is FOX News that is responsible for putting him on the air, (without thoroughly verifying his story first.) They admitted they made an error of not doing exactly that. The Family of Seth Rich had to threaten FOX News with a Law Suit before they took the story down, and then they retracted the story. Now this has involved them into something much more serious--a FEDERAL lawsuit.

The only question on any of this is was it an error of FOX News or more of a deliberate error to protect & defend Donald Trump against this Russian investigation? I believe that is exactly what they're being accused of in this Federal Law Suit. That they knew that this Seth Rich conspiracy story was bogus all along and ran with it anyway.

Fox News staffers expressed frustration on Monday that on-air personalities at their network like prime time host Sean Hannity are continuing to peddle a conspiracy theory about the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich. "I'm disgusted by it," one Fox News employee told CNN.

But for months, right-wing media outlets have floated unproven theories that Rich was the person who provided Wikileaks with thousands of internal DNC emails, and suggested his death was retribution for the supposed leak. No real evidence has been provided to support such claims.

The theory resurfaced with a vengeance last week, in part due to an incorrect Fox News story the outlet has yet to retract. Hannity, along with the hosts of "Fox & Friends," have used their large platforms to push the discredited theory, much to the dismay of the journalists who work at the network. Hannity, who stresses he's not a journalist, posted a flurry of tweets pushing the theory over the weekend. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Fox News contributor who did not respond to requests for comment, floated the theory on the network Sunday.

This post demonstrates that you are taking Rod Wheeler at his word. He is the one that is making the allegation.

It in no way infers that I am taking Wheeler's word on anything. Again if you want fantasy and conspiracy theories--then go to the Children's book store and buy them. They don't belong anywhere on a Major News Network in this country. With Sean Hannity, the Five, or hosts of Fox News repeating them.

These right wing talk show hosts are responsible for dumbing down many in the Republican party, and they have been successful at doing that.

It is not entirely true that Trump engineered a “hostile takeover” of the GOP, provided that the party is defined more broadly than elected officials and party insiders. As Conor Friedersdorf wrote last year in the Atlantic: “the elements of the party that sent pro-Trump cues or 'Trump is at least acceptable’ signals to primary voters—Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Bill O'reilly, Sarah Palin, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Breitbart.com, The Drudge Report, The New York Post, Jeff Sessions, Rick Scott, Jan Brewer, Joe Arpaio—are simply more powerful, relative to National Review, Mitt Romney, John McCain, and other ‘Trump is unacceptable’ forces, than previously thought.”

These right wing talk show hosts sold Donald Trump to their audiences with 3 or more daily hours of right wing hyperbole, half truths, misconceptions, all out lies, and enough conspiracy theories to fill the capital building from floor to ceiling.

You voted for it--you got it, now you're up to your eyeballs in serious impeachable scandals. Mueller has called for a Grand Jury--and they don't do that unless there is solid evidence that a crime has been committed.

What the Trump inter circle still hasn't figured out is that they were being watched since 2015.

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Which is why Trump Jr. can't even pull off a secret meeting at the Trump tower without getting caught.

And I'll bet my two cents that no right wing talk show host ever told you that, especially Sean Hannity or his program the "five."

You continue to attack Fox News for their role in spreading false news while completely ignoring the fact that the source Fox relied on is the same source you are relying on now.

This thread is about the allegations made by Rod Wheeler in his lawsuit, in case you have forgotten.

This thread is about the allegations made by Rod Wheeler in his lawsuit, in case you have forgotten.

The article is regarding "Ed Butowsky" The wealthy Republican donor at the center of explosive Fox News lawsuit.

"Ed Butowsky bills himself as an "internationally recognized expert in the wealth management industry" and a "leading voice on financial matters." He's also been a semi-regular guest on Fox News and its sister channel, Fox Business Network, as well as a number of other media outlets.

It's those ties to Fox, as well as to the Trump White House, that helped thrust Butowsky to the center of a bizarre and explosive story involving a slain Democratic National Committee staffer and the Trump administration. A federal lawsuit filed Tuesday accuses Butowsky of working with the White House on a false (and eventually retracted) Fox News story about the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich

Then this article about FOX News working with the White House to concoct the story.
The White House worked with Fox News and a wealthy Republican donor to concoct a story about the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, according to an explosive lawsuit filed Tuesday. The story, the lawsuit said, was part of an attempt to discredit the US intelligence community's determination that Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee and obtained a trove of emails released by Wikileaks.

Yet, you didn't give a rip about Donna giving Hillary the debate questions or Wasserman sabotaging Bernie with her Pakistani IT team.

On a scale of 1 to 10, one side of these misdeeds is about a 3, the other at least an 8, I would say. Which is which, do you think?

But you are ignoring the hard evidence:

The following account reflects the verbatim quotes provided from the texts, emails, voicemails and recorded conversations cited in Wheeler's lawsuit, except as otherwise noted.

On May 14, about 36 hours before Fox News' story appears, Butowsky leaves a voicemail for Wheeler, saying, "We have the full, uh, attention of the White House on this. And tomorrow, let's close this deal, whatever we've got to do."

Butowsky also texts Wheeler: "Not to add any more pressure but the president just read the article. He wants the article out immediately. It's now all up to you."

Those texts are probably retrievable from Wheeler's phone.
