Tillerson may make early exit from State Department: report

BY ROBIN EBERHARDT - 07/24/17

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is expressing growing frustration with the Trump administration and may be considering resigning from his role, according to a report from CNN Monday morning. Sources “familiar with Tillerson conversations with friends outside Washington” admit the secretary of State may just be venting, but they sense his doubts about President Trump are growing. Tillerson reportedly agreed with Trump critics who thought it was unprofessional when the president lashed out last week at Attorney General Jeff Sessions because he recused himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Trump referred to Sessions as "beleaguered" in a Monday morning tweet and has reportedly floated the idea of replacing him with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R). “Rexit,” as CNN's sources referred to it, would mark another change in an administration currently in the middle of a shakeup. On Friday, press secretary Sean Spicer announced he would resign, immediately after Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci was named White House communications director.

It's dawning on "Order of Friendship" Rex Tillerson that King Trump doesn't appreciate ANY dissenting opinion. Dissent in Trumps administration is synonymous with disloyalty. Only sycophants and palace toadies need apply.

It's possible he'll leave, but chatter about shake-ups and resignations tend to be premature. Despite all the gossip of who goes, so far as I can recall only two people have actually left: Flynn and Spicer, with the latter being due almost entirely to a personal hissy fit.

And yet Macron is doing the same thing, seems like to an even greater degree. Maybe that is what is required now to get anything done.

CNN now has access to Tillerson's 'conversations with friends'? Maybe they should explain how they happen to have Tillersons private conversations with non DC friends.

If the friend wanted his identity revealed, he would have consented to an interview. Obviously, he didn't want to do an interview, probably in respect to Tillerson. I cannot comment as to whether Tillerson knew his friend would discuss their conversation.

After Trump turned on Sessions, with such media fanfare, I wouldn't blame any of his cabinet for having reservations. I said it before - Trump is not a uniter, but a DIVIDER!

Or maybe CNN is dumpster diving for dirt on the Trump administration.

I agree. The minute there is a disagreement with Trump someone speculates they are thinking of leaving. The downside of instant opinions.

I do not think he will leave but I do believe trumps statement is a dick move. I do not believe it has anything to do with the special prosecuter, as he can have rosenstein fire him if he wanted it, but rather it has to do with him being a person of interest in the case.

Thing is though recuse is not a bad thing, him recusing himself for this is like a judge on a case over exxon recusing himself because he has massive stock in exxon. Recusing is done when you have a conflict of interest, and within being morale decide to evict yourself from a case or investigation over a conflict of interest, in sessions case this was over being accused of colluding and contacting russians, whether he did it or not no person in the justice system with any respect for justice would allow themselves to be in charge of an investigation involving themselves, as by conflict of interest no one would self incriminate themselves.

Does anyone now doubt but that Team Trump submarined a certain Cabinet Sec for the crime of disloyalty to the team?

Trump may be venting some anger at Rex Tillerson too.

There were only 3 other Americans in the Oval Office when Trump met with the Russians. They were H.R. McMaster, National Security adviser, Dina Powell Deputy National Security adviser, and Rex Tillerson, Secretary of state. Trump blocked out American media and let Russian media in. During the meeting Trump gave the Russians classified information that had not gone through the process of declassification. So which one of these 3 leaked to the Washington Post?

Trump found about the leak when he was out of country-and rumors were about that there was going to be a major shakeup in his administration after this leak, when he got back.

To add insult to injury. U.S. Intelligence agents warned Israeli Intelligence not to give classified information to Trump, citing he may be compromised by the Russians.

I imagine there are a lot of people wanting to jump ship on this administration right now, Rex Tillerson may be the first to resign.

Don't think so. CNN is not so stupid as to run a story, if they don't have backup. Despite what you hear from Trump about "fake news", CNN is very savvy in their reporting, and I guarantee that they are prepared for any backlash from the Trump press corps.

Frankly I'd be surprised if Tillerson resigned. Heading up the State Dept. is a great way to enrich your oil buddies by making sweet deals with oligarchs. Could it be that Rex is truly interested in honorable public service? Who woulda thunk it?

Actually, several have left, and not all were former Obama appointees.

Unrest bubbles among Trump's key foreign policy aides: sources

JULY 24, 2017

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Frustration is mounting among leading foreign policy officials in President Donald Trump's administration as they chafe at some policy and bureaucratic defeats and complain they lack independence to do their jobs, officials say. The clash between internationalists urging the traditional U.S. leadership role in the world and advocates of an "America First" approach has worn down foreign policy and intelligence professionals inside the government, according to the officials. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has told friends he will be lucky to last a year in his job, according to a friend, while two officials said national security adviser H.R. McMaster was frustrated by what he sees as disorganization and indiscipline on key policy issues inside the White House. A source familiar with the situation told Reuters that Tillerson was "very upset at not having autonomy, independence and control over his own department and the ability to do the job the way the job ... is traditionally done."

Senior national security officials said McMaster was dismayed that his recommendations, backed by his senior director for Russia, Fiona Hill, about taking a tough stance with Russian President Vladimir Putin, had been ignored. Trump has questioned the U.S. intelligence community's conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election to try to help him defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton. McMaster, a three-star Army general who once praised Trump as a "disruptive" figure, is also troubled by a protracted debate about sending more U.S. forces to help Afghanistan reverse gains by the Taliban, officials familiar with the matter told Reuters.

I give them some props for trying their best while working for an assclown.

Who are the 'Trump press corps'? 80% of the MSM is anti Trump.

CNN has been busted for reporting fake news several times in the past few months. Where have you been?

Tillerson released a statement earlier today to ward off such reports. Says he has no plan to resign and serves at the pleasure of the president. He is taking a couple days off after a long overseas tour and blames all this reporting on how everyone likes to report on "palace intrigue stories."
Tillerson Not Resigning, Traveling Instead

But there is friction between Tillerson and the WH. He is trying to fill positions and his choices don't meet the standards at the WH.

But if you believe the reports Tillerson isn't the only cabinet member that is having issues with Trump. Mattis and others are disgusted with how Trump has berated Sessions on Twitter.

Senators came out in support for Sessions today. Several other talking heads like Tucker Carlson, Limbaugh, and Levin all came out advising Trump to stop it. Trump has pissed a lot of people off that voted for Trump for the number one reason to save the Supreme Court from being overrun with leftists. A lot of those people also have a deep respect for Sessions for his record in the Senate defending the rule of law and Trump's twitter game isn't amusing to any of them.

Sessions isn't going to resign even that was Trump's attempt to force. Instead he is calling Trump's bluff. If he wants him gone he will have to fire him. If he does that then those who find Sessions upstanding defender of the law, will not circle Trump's wagon and fall into line but rather turn on him.

Your evaluation of the media is misguided. When Trump acts presidential the MSM gives him a fair shake. They commended him, after his tribute to the slain Navy seal and after his address to Congress. Both of these were presidential actions, and they gave him rave reviews. Trouble is, the very next day, he tweated lies about Obama. Trump, and only Trump, is responsible for his bad repoir with the media.

Also, I don't see anybody refuting CNNs story. Perhaps you can find a link?

Trump started a war with CNN. Specifically CNN, by citing "Fake News". Trump is an extreme ALT Right narcissist. CNN and other MSM are going to continue to report the news. Trump will continue to lie and commit political suicide at every turn.

So it's ok for CNN to fabricate stories about Donald Trump, because...he started it! What is this, 2nd grade?

I don't think you have to dive very deep. Plenty of filth in plain sight. Hey, truth at all costs...

Sorry that the truth costs too much, but most of the reporting that has been labeled "fake news" has, over time, turned out to be spot on....
