Is this an example of "self-defense"? Just another reason, more Americans need firearms? Or could it possibly be another instance of easy access to guns is not good for our society?

Jorge Jove didn't like the AT&T work trucks in front of his Hialeah home Wednesday morning. So, he retrieved his revolver and began shooting out the tires and the engine, police said.

Though Jove began firing to kill only a vehicle, a Hialeah sergeant says he saw Jove fire at an AT&T worker in a raised bucket lift. Hialeah police arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm and criminal mischief. He posted $30,000 bond. Police seized the handgun from Jove, who doesn’t have a concealed weapons permit, according to the arrest affidavit.

Excuses and justifications will be interesting I'm sure.

It was apparently an ILLEGAL gun, so none of the above.

Again, one idiot abusing his rights does not make all gun owners a threat.

For every criminal or fool there are literally hundreds of thousands of gun owners who do no wrong.

Guilt by mere association is never a valid argument.

what an evil idiot, he should loose his right to own a gun IMHO, because that is the sign of a mentally unstable moron.

Nope. The gun was not ILLEGAL, his ownership was not ILLEGAL, the only problem appears to be that Mr Jove did not have a concealed carry permit, which seems to be not applicable in this case as the weapon was never concealed. He walked out of his house with the firearm easily visible in his hand.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that all privately owned firearms in Hawaii are required to be permitted so if he didn't have a permit he was, according to Hawaii law, illegally in possession of a firearm. That's just my take and I'm sure you are far more knowledgeable on the subject than I am so I'll defer to your expertise.

This incident took place in Miami, FLORIDA. Hialeah is a suburb of Miami in Dade County

Kina like how Zimmie didn't like seeing black teens in "his" neighborhood.

Concealed carry does not play a role, but unless it is an open carry state he can not carry it legally outside the home.

Well, that little temper tantrum is going to cost him a few coins. Amazing how stupid some people are.

All it takes is a stray bullet fired into a residential area to cause harm to someone. I would be curious to find out what the total bill will be for him.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's coming down with Alzheimer's/Dementia. People with normal thought processes just don't do this. At any rate it ought to end his gun ownership rights.

All gun owners are not a threat. Tell that to Jeronimo Yanez.
