Lansing — A Michigan man who told police he killed his 5-year-old stepdaughter and set fire to the family’s apartment after she interrupted his nap has been convicted of first-degree murder.
Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Joyce Draganuchuk on Friday also found 25-year-old Thomas McClellan of Holt guilty of first-degree child abuse and first-degree arson. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 23 to life in prison without parole.
Defense lawyer Patrick Crowley argued that a second-degree conviction would be more appropriate.

Authorities say McCIellan told officers he stabbed Luna Younger on Nov. 1 and then set fire to the Lansing-area apartment to destroy evidence of the killing. During a taped confession played during the trial, McClellan said he killed the girl because she interrupted his nap and asked for something to eat.

Wow . . another classy individual . . .I would DEFINITELY support the death penalty in this case.

If they can prove he was mentally incapacitated, then I am alright with the life sentence...

But if not.. You can pay me 23cents for the bullet, and I'll just use my own gun.

Even if he is crazy he is still a murder and deserves to die for what he did

Id do it for free, in fact I'd pay money for a ticket if they did a raffle for who got to do it! lol ;)

I had a psychology prof tell me that even the most insane person makes decisions. They may be making the decisions based on a different set of values than the rest of us. So a person can still be found guilty of murder. The prof did not believe in not guilty by reason of insanity. Pretty much my take also. This guy is wasting O2.

Anyone curious as to how he had a stepdaughter?

Proof that the death penalty is needed in 2017. He's confessed to the crime, society agrees that his crime was beyond heinous, so he should be given capital punishment immediately.

Proof that bloodlust, vengeance, and disdain for life is alive and well at DP. There's always something particularly creepy about enthusiastic volunteer executioners, like the way arsonists are drawn towards enrolling as firefighters, pretending to be really opposed to something they just want to get involved in themselves. Yuk!
