[h=1]Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary[/h]
WASHINGTON — Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

I never liked Spicer, but recognize the very difficult job it is doing what he had to do. I also believe that Trump excluding him from meeting the Pope was a typical asshole move by Trump.
It also makes me wonder why would a devout Catholic take on the job he had.

This is not the first crack in the mortar of the Trump White House, but I think this is telling. Reince cannot be far behind. Given Trump's treatment of early loyal supporters, what is the motivation for anyone to come on board this barge?

Dont get your hopes too high

Presidential assistants come and go in every adminstration

Compliments to Sean for moving on. Trump, IMO, never gave Sean a good reason to stay on board.

The Trump Ship faces troubled waters ahead. I would never choose Trump as my Commander.

I suggest a revolving door be installed in the White House!

I asked this in another thread. Name an Obama White House Office official (link - if anyone's unfamiliar with what the White House Office is) that resigned over disagreement with a decision that Obama made? No one's yet come forward with a name.

Secondly, the Press Secretary is not an assistant and we're six months into the administration.

But other then Nixon, there was never any concerns by any administration over if a president can pardon himself.

This is at the 6 months mark also.

The ideal press secretary in my opinion for this Administration would be Baghdad Bob assuming he is still alive as there seems to be some question about him still being alive.

Cya. Wouldn't want to be ya!

How to destroy your reputation and your integrity.

If you mean liberals are seriously worried that trump might pardon himself they have to be pretty far over the edge to give serious thought to anything that wild

Greetings, Mac77. :2wave:

I liked him, and I'm sorry to see him go!. Trump could never have asked for a more loyal employee, IMO, but sincerity and loyalty should always work both ways, especially when it's a "one-of-a-kind" job! I don't know what he was being paid, but I suspect it would never be enough if I were expected to do that job! :lamo Good luck to his replacement, and I hope Spicer is happy in whatever he chooses to do next!

If anyone would try it would be Cheeto.

LOL not following the news of late that the Whitehouse lawyers had let the cat out of the bag concerning their research on the pardon powers of a president as it relate to his inner circle and himself?

Or are you just trying to audition for the press secretary job in case Baghdad
Bob is not alive?

I must admit that I'm not up to date on that lib lie

Is it based on the word of an imaginary unnamed source?

Personally before they stop showing the press conferences on camera I feel sorry for him after watching how must pain he seems to be under as Trump spoke person.

He doesn't see that liberals aren't worried - mostly laughing at a guy learning on the job that pardoning himself is not legal in our political system.

This was sent from Putin's computer using Donald's credentials.

I am not sure what lawyers spill the beams but it was likely one of the lawyers that had already ran out of the Whitehouse.

By the way you are doing a good job and might win the press secretary job over Baghdad Bob.

Can you say what American tanks at the airport with the same conviction as Baghdad Bob?

President Trump's lawyers are looking into the president's authority to grant pardons in connection with the special counsel investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 presidential election, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

Trump himself has talked to advisers about his ability to pardon his aides, family members and himself in the investigations, according to the Post, though one adviser cautioned that the president's inquiries were made in curiosity, rather than in connection to the Russia probes.

“This is not in the context of, ‘I can’t wait to pardon myself,'” the adviser said.

Democrats have raised concerns in the past that Trump would pardon anyone who is convicted in the ongoing Russia investigations.

Trump's lawyers have reportedly been discussing presidential pardons among themselves and are also looking at ways to undercut or limit the special counsel investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

That includes putting together a list of special counsel Robert Mueller's potential conflicts of interest, which could potentially be cited by an attorney general to fire Mueller.

Trump has voiced much frustration over the ongoing special counsel investigation into Russian efforts to meddle in the 2016 election, calling it a "witch hunt" and a "cloud" hanging over his presidency.

The Washington Post report comes a week after reports that Donald Trump Jr. met in June of 2016 with a Russian lawyer who promised damaging information on then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Trump Jr., the president and other administration members have come under fire following the reports of the meeting, which has added to speculation that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the election.

There is little limit in the Constitution over the pardon powers except it can not stop an impeachment so it is completely unsettle law.

So there is no source for the story except the word of a newspaper with zero credibility
