Holy **** that is some stupid ****. McCain was not at fault, nor did anything he did have anything to do with the cause of the fire on the Forrestal. And claiming special treatment as a prisoner of war is like claiming Japan let us off easy at the start of WW2 since they only destroyed most of the ships at Pearl Harbor.

When you have done 1 % as much for this country as McCain has, then you can bitch. Until then, you sound much more spoiled than McCain ever has...

Obviously his politics are not my own, but he belonged an old guard where respect, even for one's opponents, was still an important quality to have.

Wow...what a shocker! You go into the hospital for one thing only to learn there's something far more serious going on with your health and it's likely incurable.

Poor guy. I may not have agreed with his politics in many instances, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Whatever his doctors decide is the best course of action for his condition and health situation - be it surgery or managing his care until the end - I'll pray for him.

yeah, that's true. same my Mother in law died from. its pretty bad stuff. The doctor who diagnosed my mother in law described it as a drop of ink in a glass of water-if you don't get it right away it it spreads out to the point it cannot be removed surgically. strange but true-my MIL had a few dates with Ted Kennedy when they both were in Boston. They both died of the same cancer

It's possible that the video I posted sets kind of a low bar, but sadly it's probably the highest bar in the GOP right now.

Let me start by thanking you for your service. Nothing I can say, or offer, will be enough to show my gratitude to all who served. Let me continue by questioning what is more important. Is it some bitter feelings or humanity? The man signed up, he served, he was captured. I can only imagine what it takes to not only get through it, but to continue serving one's country without being bitter.

I really liked what Obama said about McCain and Romney. He said he wouldn't worry about the country if they had won.

"But what we haven't seen before is somebody questioning integrity of elections and the will of the people — a politics based on putting down in very explicit terms, Muslim-Americans who are patriots, or describing women on a one-to-10 score," Obama added. "Regardless of what your political preferences are, there is a certain responsibility and expectations in terms of how you behave."

Ah, you poor saps know what you've read about it.

I was THERE and heard about it from real people.

He's a fake whose father kept his career safe.

His strength was crashing planes and surviving......although he was severely injured in his Vietnam crash.
