I am independent - as it says in my description a few inches to the left of this - and I thought Obama (and G.W.B. as well, btw) did a lousy job...though not remotely as bad as Trump so far.

As an aside, I'm a long way from being a racist. However, when I consider someone's commentary (actions or behavior) to be racially motivated, I call it out. It's up to you to prove me wrong. So, if the backhanded racist slights fit...:2wave:

If you're not a racist or a bigot, then stop posting commentary that give people the impression that such is motivated by racism and/or bigotry. It's not up to me to convince anyone of anything on your behalf. The, kind sir, is on you.

You want to change reader's minds, give them something less "suggestive" to read. Otherwise, all you've done is give people/readers the impression that you are as people (such as myself) have labelled you to be.

I AM NOT A RACIST.

My best friend growing up was White.

I've worked very closely with White people all of my life.

Many of my dearest friends are White.

My wife is White.

One of my children is bi-racial, half-Black/half-White.

Two of my children by heart if not by blood whom I love very much are White.

My sister-in-law is White.

My neighbor and closest friend is White, as well as his entire family. I'm at their home damned near every day and they at mine! His family and mine are so close we're practically family!

It's impossible for me to be racist! However, that DOES NOT mean that I don't have strong ties to my Black roots. Thus, if I read, hear or see something I consider to be racist, bigoted or racially motivated, I WILL call it out. It's up to you to whom my racist charge is thrust to prove me wrong. So, prove it.

Funny, I never get called a racist to my face, only on the internet by clowns who can't form a real argument. But back to you. the Onus on you is to prove your charge. If I called you a pedophile, it would not be up to you to prove you are not, would it? Furthermore, why would I waste my time trying to prove something to random yahoo's on the internet who think that accusations=guilt in debate.

Then why, sir, has this become such a contentious issue with you concerning your online persona? Why drag me into your mess? If you disagree with the perception people online have of you, why go through this trouble? Clearly, it matters to you.

I think all ecoform was trying to say (which I believe I "echoed") was if you don't want people to get this perception of you (i.e., racist, bigot, sexist, partisan, etc.) don't post commentary that gives that impression.

Frankly, if someone "accused" me of being a pedophile, I'd challenge them to show me civil court documents adjudicating such charges. But you know what...no one can because none exist. Moreover, it's not in my character. Regardless, I'd deny the accusation and let it go. In any case, that's something that's rather difficult to disprove in an online forum short of providing cyber evidence that goes contrary. Still, where there is no "pattern" of such (online) character there can be no character assassination. In other words, don't shoot yourself in the foot, kind sir.

And with that I'm (once again) out of this discussion.
