Musician Kid Rock has announced his bid for the U.S. Senate in Michigan.

In a tweet Wednesday, Rock, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, wrote that the website “KidRockForSenate.com” was real and to stay tuned for “a major announcement in the near future.”

James Ritchie is the type of Republican I see Michigan getting behind. This could be a great jolt for Republicans. A true tradionilist Republican with a strong libertarian streak.

I like the lyrics in one of his songs "a lot of people poke fun and that's all right, but when I start poking back they get all uptight"

This will certainly get some folks uptight!

I was hoping for turd nugent. Either one gives the DEMs serious Senate coattails in the gubernatorial race, biting into the state legislature and flipping house CD seats .

The Democrats couldn't have asked Santa for a better gift. Nice.

I remember them saying that about the Donald. I'd like to see Kid Rock run. I bet it would be a hoot. I also think he is the type that doesn't take any crap without returning the favor. Its about damn time some republicans ran that don't have a problem hitting back. Most of the current crop are a bunch of ******s.

Dude Ted would be a nightmare for the Dems, because he doesn't give rats ass what anybody thinks of him. Hell the ******s that call themselves republicans would probably crap themselves if he ever announced he was seriously considering running. I love listening to him whenever comes on Jazz Mackays show out here in Kern County, he is always a hoot.

We saw Michigan's draw to star power, with Trump.

Rock may do well!

Will he eventually have to remove his sunglasses?

Seriously though, I don't get bogged down with the partisan side of things when looking at showing support for someone. It's all about their platforms for me, not whether or not it's going to piss off the other side. My standards as to who I am going to vote for and who best represents my views/thoughts are more important than sticking it to the other side.

Took a look at his kid rock for senate website to see where he stands on issues. Nothing there, just a link to purchase some campaign merchandising if your interested.

Pedophile turd nugent is the classic chicken**** chickenhawk *****, worse for the GOP than Akin and Mourdock were in 2012.

Knowing turd nugent pissed and crapped in the same pair of jeans for a month before his physical to get his 1-Y deferment, Veterans will love this steaming pile of trump.

Run Tess run .

LOL. So what makes this guy qualified? It's like that clay aiken run for house.

The Republican party has certainly changed over the years.

And this is for the questions that don't have any answers
The midnight glancers and the topless dancers
The candid freaks, cars packed with speakers
The G's with the forties and the chicks with beepers
The Northern Lights and the Southern Comfort
And it don't even matter if the veins are punctured
All the crack heads, the critics, the cynics
And all my heroes at the Methadone Clinic
All you bastards at the IRS
For the crooked cops and the cluttered desks
For the shots of Jack and the caps of meth
Half pints of love and the fists of stress
For the hookers all tricking out in Hollywood
And for my hoods of the world misunderstood
I said it's all good and it's all in fun
Now get in the pit and try to love someone

...and therefore giving a whole new meaning to, " you will never meet a MF like me".
Don't you just love American politics?

I like a few of KR songs, but I'm not sure he'd be an effective politician.

You can't be walking around DC punching out liberals if you expect to be useful to your constituents.
