WASHINGTON — Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.

For months now we have watched this congressional probe--that then turned into a criminal investigation on May 17, 2017. I have been asked frequently for "proof of collusion," and it's finally showed up. Trump Jr. should have notified the FBI immediately. He didn't, instead he set up a meeting with this Russian lawyer and in attendance was Jerad Kushner, Trump's son in law, and Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort.

That is collusion with a foreign adversary to interfere into an American election, which is Treason.

No, it is not!

First, this story is based on the recollection of three "anonymous" sources. We have seen how valid past reports from "anonymous sources" have been.

Second, all evidence shows that the "Russian agent" was merely a child advocacy lawyer and had no such information; that it was merely a ploy to get access to talk about Russian adoption issues.

Third, this "evidence" of a meeting was not revealed by any "collusion investigation," but by the open report of foreign contacts by one of the participants as required by law.

Fourth, Trump Jr. was not a government official, but a private citizen who had been approached with an offer of information that could help the campaign. Investigating such information to see if it has any value is fairly normal in any political campaign.

Finally, trying to turn this non-incident into proof of actual collusion is typical of the disloyal opposition...crying "Fire!" when there isn't even smoke, just more fog they keep dreaming up.

We need more people like you in this country...

We have enough people that spin already.

Spin...spin spin. Nothing to see here, yet the revelations keep on coming. They need to remember that it was 2 years after the break-in before Nixon resigned.

You'll be biting the dust on this one. First off, I imagine Robert Mueller already has a copy of this email, and I really don't care what information, if any, was shared in this meeting, it is solid evidence that Trump surrogates indeed were working with the Russians in an attempt to sway an American election.

This is it--this is the smoking gun.

This is on top of learning a week ago that Paul Manafort, who was also present in this meeting, was forced by the DOJ to register as a Foreign agent. He was working for the Russians in the 2012-2014 era recieving 17 MILLION from them for him to advise them on U.S. policy regarding the Ukraine.

Yeah this is like the 30th bombshell at this point. They would have more credibility if they would at least acknowledge a lot of this stuff is pretty damn shady or at the least bizarre. If the Trump administration walks away from this in the end I will be absolutely amazed.

The only thing to see here is the same show that has been going on ever since Trump, against all predictions and expectations, won the election.

The psychic shock was too much to bear for a sizeable portion of the Progressive-Left and their allies in the MSM. One could post all sorts of videos demonstrating this tremendous emotional shock and dismay.

It was a significant emotional event that had to be followed by a natural drive to "make it all better," by any means necessary.

Thus, Trump could not have won the election fair and square, there must be, had to be, some kind of cheat.

First came all the litany of excuses, from miscounts to election fraud, followed by claims of mental unfitness for office and demands for impeachment, but finally settling into the "Russians did it!"

Nothing will change the minds of those who believe this rationale for their loss.

Everything is "proof" and will be built upon brick by brick as a stone wall against rational thought, then repeated as mantra to convince everyone else.

This :2brickwal

...is how I feel when trying to argue the facts. :coffeepap:

You can bet the spin masters and physco babble interpretors will be out in full force tomorrow on this one. Rush Limbaugh will start out the orchestra that will be played over and over again--and who knows what Sean Hannity will come up with. But it will be very entertaining.
The Hits Keep Coming – Talking Points Memo

But Senate & House Republicans only have two options.
1. Remove Trump from office asap or
2. Burn the entire party down in 2018--2020 & beyond.

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi, it's not hard to imagine what Democrats will do with Treason, Obstruction and Lies when they take over in 2018.

And the punishment for that, is execution. Finally, you guys got him! When should they start executing Trump and his family?

Treason is no longer punishable by death, but a life sentence in a Federal Prison. I seriously doubt that will happen--because their last names are TRUMP. Usually Treason is defined during wartime. But we consider Cyber Attacks to be the 21st Century Act of War.

Hmm...how exactly did those advisors get a hold of Trump Jr. emails?

From conservative Newspaper, Washington Examiner. It's not the do all to tell all about the situation, just a slightly different angle of the dangle.

The New York Times reported that an email sent by Rob Goldstone, a publicist and former British tabloid reporter who helped facilitate the meeting, indicated that the Russian government was the source of the information that Trump Jr. sought. The Times said it was described the contents of the email from three people familiar with it.

The email reportedly does not specifically describe the broader effort by Russia to assist the Trump campaign, and there isn't any evidence the promised information was related to Russian hacking that led to the release of Democratic National Committee emails.

President Trump's eldest son acknowledged he met with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya in June 2016 after she had offered to turn over damaging information about Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.

And yet...it's was Trump that doesn't think he won fair and square and said the election was rigged and refused to accept the popular vote count....and formed an election panel to investigate voter fraud in the 2016 election....not democrats.

According to you...only losers would rationalize their loss with the excuse of election fraud.

Probably long time denizens of the swamp still trying to bring down Trump

Great case study, if you advocate for common Americans and the constitution the deep state will do everything they can to bring you down to the point making stuff up

As you said, its arguing facts, and as we all know facts do not care one iota about feelings. Even if you show them all the proof in the world that they are wrong, they will simply chalk it up to you being a rabid Trumpette, and that they are still in the right.

We have more stuff going on abroad than this right now, like Germany legalizing gay marriage, and basically taking away their own populations anonymity online. Now you will be lucky to not see jail time, for as much as a snide comment when it comes to supposed hate speech.

But no, everyone is still crying wolf over here, and then they get all mad when the sheep don't start running. This is funny to see in mass, much like that emotional outburst you mentioned. I could have needed Stephen Hawking to calculate all of my satisfactory that day, but its starting to bore me now.

I will argue, and debate politics all day, happily even.
But the inability of the small being able to grow, is starting to annoy me.

Which we did have attempts of voter fraud in several states, so that was one reason to call for the investigation. Not to blame any individual party, because there were people on both sides of the isle.

My favorite was the DMV office in California that was used to turn out drivers license's for immigrants, for the specific purpose of voting on that exact day. One man even said, and I'm paraphrasing here "I have been driving without one for over ten years now, so I think its about time"

The three people cited by the New York Times identified themselves as White House advisors, that is a clue about their identity.

LOL!!

White House advisors. Let's see...Conway? Bannon? What other White House advisors would be talking to the NYT?

Jesus!! The useful idiots are tearing off mouthfuls of this nothingburger.

Give me evidence. Give me proof. Get these "advisors" to go on record...video preferably...telling us what they "know". Show me the email. (interesting that NYT hasn't said anyone but those mythical three advisors have seen any email, eh?)

If nobody can do this, this is nothing but a nothingburger.

And we now have the proof of collusion between the Russians and the highest levels of the Trump campaign.

Three unnamed sources according to the lying New York Times?

Moving right along...

:lamo

Another big nothing-burger.

That may be the worst phrase to come out of the Trump apologist wing of the right since this whole thing began.

Everytime I see it used by Trump apologists I realize we are dealing with denial on a massive level bordering upon willful mental delusion.
