limit the online exposure of infrastructure and educate everyone who works for those agencies about phishing. that would be the first step. second, we should be throwing everything we have at securing networks. basically, we should operate like a cyber attack is imminent and maintain that level of alert, because my guess is that it is.

A bipartisan announcement was made early Oct. Obama knew early August.

Per Slate and other sources, easy to find, btw, According to several officials, McConnell raised doubts about the underlying intelligence and made clear to the administration that he would consider any effort by the White House to challenge the Russians publicly an act of partisan politics. ( That would be the Gang of 8 reporting.)
