Republicans deride Trump's idea for cyber security unit with Russia

Deflecting from your inability to show a relationship between China and Germany involving meddling in our elections?

Lmao, I am deflecting by pointing out your absurd failure to show your first claim.

Oy mate! You just don't get it, you've been had! I didn't make a whole thread that's based on kaka.

China and Germany were only kidding around, not interested in our governing process, right. ;)

Quit deflecting. What's wrong Hat? Having a problem with the truth of no proof of collusion? That would make you a falsifier and spreader of non-truths?

There are two CRIMINAL ongoing investigations right now. They don't turn congressional probes into Criminal investigations without evidence of a crime being committed.
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday said it’s clear that after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein briefed the Senate on the investigation into Russian involvement in the presidential election that it has become a criminal probe.“The shock to the body is that this is now a criminal investigation,” Graham (R-SC) told reporters moments after he exited the Senate chamber. He said now that it has become a criminal investigation instead of an counterintelligence probe Congress may be impeded in carrying out its own examinations. “You’ve got a special counsel who has prosecutorial powers now, and I think we in Congress have to be very careful not to interfere,” Graham said. “Public access to this is probably going to be very limited now.

In this 8 minute FOX News video--you'll hear about the continual contact between Trump surrogages & not only the Russian ambassador but also with Russian intelligence agents during the campaign season.

The problem for Trump & company is they denied anyone had contact with any Russians during the campaign season--5 times--before they started getting busted.

Michael Flynn.

We have indications that should be investigated, and there is plenty of smoke, just no smoking gun (yet). IT's a matter of the level of proof.

Investigations are not proof.

A senior Senate Republican on Sunday said President Trump’s plan to work with Russia on cybersecurity is “pretty close” to the “dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) called Trump’s Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin “disastrous” and said the president has a “blind spot” on Russia.

“When it comes to Russia I am dumbfounded, I am disappointed, and at the end of the day he’s hurting his presidency by not embracing the fact that Putin is a bad guy,” Graham said on NBC News’s “Meet the Press.”

“He is literally the only person I know of who doesn’t believe Russia attacked our election in 2016,” Graham said of Trump, who has said that “nobody really knows” whether the Russians were behind attempts to hack the 2016 presidential election.

Graham unloads on Trump: Blind spot on Russia 'undermining his entire presidency' | TheHill

Which begs the question, Senator: what's the dumbest idea you've ever heard?

You do have a way with words.

Thanks! I'll be here all week, don't forget to tip your servers!

p.s., I also do weddings and Bar Mitzvahs!

Investigations are not proof.

There was absolutely no reason for Trump surrogates to have this much contact with the Russians during the campaign season. Russians can't vote or make campaign donations. US intelligence agents were originally warned about this continual contact by the British.

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added. Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said. The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.

Comey testified that the Russian investigation started in July--or about the same time as the RNC Convention when Trump Surrogates actually sat across the table with the Russian Ambassador to write foreign policy--(long before they were even close to winning the election.) Here's what they installed in the Republican platform. As we see they weren't simply trading cookie recipes.
Gordon had advocated for language in the GOP platform that the Ukrainians not be armed in their battle against pro-Russian separatists, an effort was ultimately successful. But Gordon says he was simply advocating what Trump himself had expressed -- that he did not wish to see major war break out over the situation in Ukraine.

John McCain wanted to know why this was added into the platform.

Then just a week ago we find out that Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager was forced by the DOJ to register as a foreign agent, working for the Russians from 2012-2014 and earning 17 million from them regarding U.S. policies in the Ukraine. The other one that had to do that who is currently under criminal investigation is General Flynn.

We now have Trump under investigation for Obstruction of Justice, an impeachable offense. And it doesn't help that Trump went on an NBC T.V. interview with Lester Holt and admitted he fired Comey over the Russian investigation. You can watch that interview from this link.

I really don't know how many dots need to be connected before we start referring to the White House as the Kremlim--but it's more than clear that the Trump campaign lied over and over again--and never knew they were being watched not only by U.S. Intelligence but by others known as the 5 eyes. Countries we share intelligence with.

Listen, when this reaches Congress as an Impeachable offense, I'm on board. Otherwise, it's media generated crappola.

I'll give you an A for effort.

BTW, I actually don't like Trump but am fair minded.

Well, no, not if the Russians don't let them.
The Russians rule the GOP's alt right not the dems.

Our law for politicians and wannabee campaign hopefuls have certain conditions when meeting with agents of a foreign state.

Manafort, Flynn, and many others have run afoul of those laws.

That is why investigations, at least two of which are investigating possible criminal activity, are ongoing.

You have been brainwashed to believe that it is media crapple, when it's not. There are 2 ongoing criminal investigations--one into collusion and the other obstruction of justice. They are no longer just congressional investigations into Russian interference into the election, as Lindsey Graham explained. Everyone has been told to clam up and lawyer up, which is exactly what they have been doing.

Michael Flynn is in serious trouble. Being a military officer--either active duty or retired--you cannot accept money from foreign countries. He lied to the FBI which is a FELONY. He accepted 500K from Turkey and was also paid by Russian Television, while attending daily National Security briefings. His lawyers asked for immunity against prosecution--(citing he has a story to tell)--and he was denied immunity. He then went into testify and pleaded the 5th on every question. Trump tried to protect Michael Flynn from prosecution. Why? it's probably because he has a story to tell. Comey testified that Trump tried to get him to drop the investigation on Flynn. This has all been verified. That is Obstruction of Justice. The IRONY: Obama warned Trump not to hire Flynn.

Then we have Trump's son in law, Jerad Kushner (which was also picked up on a wire-tap) asking the Russian ambassador for a private-secure line to the Kremlin. Here's a FOX NEWS link so it's safe for you to read.

Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and one of the senior advisers in the Trump administration, was seeking a private communications channel with the Kremlin, according to a new report in The Washington Post. Kushner and Sergei Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to Washington, spoke of the possibility of coordinating a secret and secure communications channel between the Trump transition team and the Kremlin, U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports told The Post. At the same time, a new Reuters report stated that Kushner had at least three previously undisclosed contacts with Kislyak during and after the 2016 presidential campaign. Those contacts included two phone calls between April and November 2016. Seven current and former U.S. officials confirmed the information with Reuters.

Over the coming weeks/months you'll hear a lot more names come into this. Roger Stone, Carter Page, J.D. Gordon, Paul Manafort--all of the Presidents men that had Russian connections--and were clearly very active with the Russians during the campaign season.

This story of a joint cyber union between Russia & the U.S. (that Trump proposed) is just another brick added to this wall of Russian interests. There's a reason for this. Either personal financial gains, or Trump is being blackmailed by the Russians, possibly regarding that Dosier file.

If the evidence is this serious, then why doesn't the Media and Congress call for Impeachment Proceedings?

If the evidence is this serious, then why doesn't the Media and Congress call for Impeachment Proceedings?

Because Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor on this case, is not done with this investigation. This turned into a Criminal Investigation just a little over a month ago on May 17, 2017. He is in charge now--he has plenty of evidence--and I believe he is right now looking at bank accounts--investments, he is also interviewing people like Paul Manafort, and those that can verifty and testify to James Comey's memo's etc.

What I do know is Mueller has hired a criminal law expert to his team.

Deputy Solicitor General and criminal law expert Michael Dreeben will join special counsel Robert Mueller's quietly growing team of legal minds assisting with the probe into Russia's involvement with the 2016 election.

We aren't going to know much more until Mueller has completed his investigation, then he will brief the Senate and House Intelligence committees--and it will be up to them to proceed or not proceed with impeachment proceedings.

In my mind and from what I have seen over these last several months, Republicans have two options.
1. Remove Trump from office asap or
2. Burn the entire party down in 2018--2020 & beyond.

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi, it's not hard to imagine what Democrats would do with Treason, Obstruction & Lies when they take over in 2018. You'll also get a great education on what that Emoluments clause in the Constitution is all about.

Impressive response. Mueller is chasing the wind. If there were more solid evidence of wrong doing it would've been made manifest. The GOP is about to go Reagan if they pass a sensible health, tax and budget bills. This is a big bunch of crap as Benghazi was.

Unfortunately it's not. Again they don't turn congressional probes into Criminal investigations without evidence of a crime being committed. General Flynn is up to his eyeballs in trouble. Then we have the ultimate: Trump meets with the Russians in the Oval office, won't allow American media in, but allows Russian media in. During the process he gives the Russians classified information, that had not gone through the process of being declassifed. There were only 3 other Americans in the Oval office with Trump when he did this. H.R. McMaster, National Security Adviser, Dina Powell, Deputy National Security adviser, and Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State. So which one of these 3 leaked this to the Washington Post? I think Trump believes everyone has to be loyal to HIM, and often forgets that these same people swore an oath to this country to protect and defend against foreign and domestic enemies, and they just may consider Trump to be the enemy.

If it comes to brass tack and nails that Trump is guilty of subversion and collusion, I'll be the first to condemn him.

Unfortunately, for your biased purview it's simply not happening, yet. He may well be convicted eventually but until then it's fantasy.

Trump has become the enemy of Democracy just like Putin is. That will be his legacy.

Oh the drama!. so when is he going to round up people like you for the gulags?

I am an independent and have been involved in politics and on political boards for many years. It's very easy for me to spot FAKE news--and this Russian criminal investigation is no "ruse" as Trump claims.

If you can't connect those dots after all you've been given--(links & video's) that's not my problem.

I like this response, it's more open and demure. You'll win my heart every time with this kind of reasoning. I can accept when I'm wrong, I just need someone who can convince me of why?

I didn't believe the headlines, that Trump was accusing Obama that same week for "not having done anything" when he discovered Russian hacking (he did do something), then Trump says he wants to build an impenetrable defense against hacking WITH the Russians.

When will this straw break the camel's back of Trump supporters? When he asks them to take control of all our nukes? I mean WHAT THE **** PEOPLE.

How STUPID is this president exactly? The #1 rule of hacking, the ONLY rule worth knowing, is that *anything can be hacked*. But no Trump will build an impenetrable wall!

With the Russians?

Good gods.

Trump clearly has an arrangement with the Russians, whether its that they have blackmail on him and he has to dance to their tune, or he's just repaying the favor of them obviously having hacked the DNC and leaked strategic data that allowed him to create the biggest upset in electoral college victories against all predicted odds, while losing the general vote. He didn't have to leave a breadcrumb trail, this was all done in the light of day.

as birther boy trump did to Obama with the teat party crowd since 2011

Well...yeah, but I fail to see how that is pertinent to what we're talking about. Also, having bad relations with Russia historically, and presently, tends to get a lot of people killed. So the ramifications are a little different.

... The solution to Russian meddling is now Russian involvement. The attacks on the validity of government institutions and American weakness? Well, they will be replaced with praise for the work of the Russian government. No effort to improve our current system, just destroy it, and praise those of dictators around the world; Duterte, Erdogan, Putin.

I don't care for Reagan, but he's probably twisting in his grave. Mostly because he doesn't remember where he is, but also because of the 180 US policy has made on Russia in less than 3 months.
