Police said the shooting at Power Ultra Lounge was the result of a dispute among club-goers and not an active shooter or terror-related incident. Little Rock police said later on Saturday that 25 people were shot and three others suffered unrelated injuries. All were expected to survive, police said.

1. I don't know how the hell 25 people get shot and every single one of them survives, but I'd call that an incredibly fortunate break.

2. As this was a Black nightclub, let's keep the racist comments in this thread to a minimum, please. As in, zero.

Growing violence?

When a population grows, the percentage of those involved in crimes of violence grows as well.

Violence in nightclubs is nothing new. When you combine alcohol and other mood altering substances in a locale designed to create sexual tension and competition...expect periodic violence.

This includes gun violence. :shrug:

P.S. It is not "racist" to point out that the thug subculture is prone to such acts of violence, along with drive by's and other similar actions considered a part of gangland cultures.

Chief Kenton Buckner spoke from the scene Saturday morning, according to a Facebook Live video from KARK, and told reporters a group from Memphis was performing inside the club when “some sort of dispute broke out between individuals who were inside.”

That’s when “an exchange of gunfire took place,” he said.

It does sound like some sort of dispute happened. No official word from what I can find on what the official issue was.
 
Ironic. In yet another tragic...yes...it is tragic...individual incident of black people getting shot the opening call is to ensure 'racist' comments are kept to a minimum. Of course...discussing black on black crime and violence is already labelled as a 'racist' act. Funny though..we dont see such discretion urged when discussing individual police shootings. Where an officer involved shooting happens the people typically calling for discretion regarding 'the blacks' have no problem vilifying 'the cops' in open expressions of bigotry.

That's entirely possible. That's one bad thing about nightclubs--the deafening volume makes it very difficult to have civil conversations.

I am worried when someone starts a discussion basing the replies on what they think is racist. I do not see her nominating anyone to determine that.

Quite true. Now, is that growth linear to population growth, or larger than population growth?

I keep thinking of the over crowded mice experiment, where the population density was larger than normal with adequate food and housing provided; the mice still killed each other off and didn't reproduce until the population returned to its balance point of density.

Also true, as is also glorified in the 'Gangsta Rap' culture and ethos. Maybe some wanted to be heroes in their own minds?

why not call out black on black violence it is an epidemic in their community.
there is nothing racist about it at all.

it is far more sever than other violence that is out there.

this was more than likely a gang shooting.

One of my best friends out west, was inside a club in SLC, when a gunfight broke out. Said it was terrifying, and just ghetto people, getting loud, acting a fool.
