McConnell to delay the vote on health care bill until after July 4 recess

I'm a foot soldier Cardinal. I have been to people's homes and spoken to the "people." Medicaid is a horrible system and no decent citizen wants to be on Medicaid. It doesn't improve a persons life.

Medicaid needs to be defunded otherwhise, it will be completely non-existant in 2028. Medicaid is essentially a ponzi-scheme.

If you want to continue to fund a broken system, good for you. What are your suggestions on funding it? Should we roll back on national security and make us more susceptible to terrorist attacks?

You expect Democrats to sabotage a program that keeps tens of millions of Americans insured? Not going to happen. If you guys finally do torpedo that coverage, it will be on you and you alone.

Obamacare is already torpedoed. The middle class can't afford it. Many areas are down to just one insurer, and many areas may actually be facing zero insurers. What good is Obamacare if the middle class can't afford it or there are no insurers to offer insurance?

As long as we spend 17% GDP on healthcare, and going up, there is no solution.

We need to decide to fix healthcare, you know, that thing Obama said he was doing but lied about.

trump and price intentionally sabotaging ACA won't be lost on 2018 voters .

If they spin it right it will be.

Too few people are willing to dig through the bull****.

And there are so many bull**** generators I'd only give it a 50/50 chance at being still on the mind in 2018 - a bunch will be pissed at the new healthcare thing if it passes, but they might forget that their excuse for even trying it was made by messing up the previous thing.

Anyone who considers this to be a long term victory needs to go outside and experience a real, tangible short term enjoyment, like a nice hike, boat ride or a date with the wife/husband. Or just rent some bad movies and get drunk by yourself. Whatever. Point is, just about anything is more tangible than this "victory."

I agree that they want to pass something. They probably going to slash medicare and Medicaid, and that means their poor white rural voters are going to get screwed.

Four of them actually are not voting for it because it doesn't cut medicare and medicaid enough

That will be good to use against Cruz next year in his senate race .

It seems wildly inadvisable.

Do they think those voters are so dumb they can win them back by their next election?
Or are they trying to steal all the Democrat's big money donors and just buy the next one?

There is no number of amendments that will make trumpcare less bad than the ACA. Not when the driving motivation is to give a tax cut to the rich and not at all about improving healthcare. The underlying motives are rotten, and all resulting legislation will likewise be rotten.

And for anybody who does think this delay is a victory, just repeat back to yourselves Paul Ryan's statement from a couple months ago after their first fiasco: "Obamacare is probably going to be the law of the land." Republicans have at least a year and half to come up with some way to take medicaid and health coverage away from millions of Americans. Their donors put them into office to cut their taxes, and you better believe that's exactly what Republicans are going to deliver.

I definitely agree. Paul Ryan doesn't give a **** about people who are not his donors.

That's on the DEMs to start running national and targeted ads at GOPs as they did to DEMs over Christmas vacation 2013 and on after the ACA rollout.

DEMs never defended until too late and never went after the Cruz/Freedom Caucus shutdown of 10/13 .

These lefties keep on making the same mistake over and over and over again. So far this year they are 0 for 4. Now they want to do the very same thing that caused Trump to win in the first place.

Load of crap. Obamacare was in quicksand long before Trump was even running.

Lying about what I said concerning trump's sabotage of ACA doesn't make it a load of crap, Moderate Right .

None of those 4 races were on the DEMs radar after the 2016 election and they all averaged getting 20 points closer .

Lying about what I said about Obamacare sinking in quicksand long before Trump was even in the picture is a load of crap, Nimby. Democrats have suffered very steep election losses for six years now, mostly due to Obamacare getting worse and worse every year. Republicans ran on Obamacare's failure and won.

Keep looking backwards, Moderate Right, and lying about what I said about trump continuing to sabotage America over ACA because of his birther hatred for Obama.

All your GOPs know how to do is demonize, smear, lie and fear monger over Democrats trying to fulfill Theodore Roosevelt's dream of national health care.

I hope your GOP passes trump's wealthcare tax cuts .

Don't lump me in that Nation ...

I'm a Business Owner; soon to be retired, who never complains about the amount of Taxes I pay, so long as I see value. My wife an I do well, Obamacare was something we would never benefit from. But I care about the Poor and Middle Class, because I've been there. It's not all about me. It's about raising all boats.

People where going bankrupt because of Healthcare before 2008. You can try to forget that all you want and I'm betting The Republicans are hopping you do.

FACT: More people have access to Healthcare than ever before in this country ... that's a Fact and that's good for the country.

Unless you're making over $250k you'e not getting jack**** for a Tax break and $250k in capital gains, you're not getting jack****.

So what's in it for you .... NOTHING ... Unless you have $250k in Taxable Income.

I am doing well too, and my husband has international business interests so we can move to another country if stuff gets really bad. We will still have family here. I have a bunch of concerns. One thing I worry about is that premiums will continue to rise, and insurance will get worse.

I don't understand why America can't have a better healthcare system. Paul Ryan and his group are not even trying to give the people anything decent. He is just giving away tax cuts to his wealthy donors. That should be immoral, wrong, and unacceptable, but it is business as usual in the United States.

Because the voters have done such a Banging Great Job over my lifetime?

Which I remind you Sir adds up to 55.

Then you'll be getting hurt with trump's wealthcare tax cuts .

That's funny. Democrats were making a huge deal out of these races. The left poured megamillions of dollars into the Georgia special election and after the loss everyone was in full spin mode, except for many Democrats calling for Nancy Pelosi's head.

I think Hillary had all the big money donors and she lost. They were all really sad about it and said they felt like setting their money on fire. The most recent special election costed around 11 million. Our system needs reformed and is the root of so many of these problems.

How many mega millions of GOP PAC dirty laundry came in to all 4 specials in safe deep red CDs ?

Now you have just degenerated into full blown liberal talking points that aren't even on subject. This thread is about the current Senate healthcare plan and doesn't have a damn thing to do with any birther movement. I'll take this as your complete surrender to telling the truth and just wanting to post anti-Trump stuff.

"Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump..............and RUSSIA!!"

The country is going down the tubes.

Does anyone want to get serious about making America Great Again for our kids and grandkids, you remember, the ones we have ****ed over with debt for our consumption because we really are assholes like that.

I'll be waiting over by the truck if anyone wants to join me in doing the right thing.

Surely some of us can still play this game of running a country....

Surely not ALL the builders are gone gone gone....

trump's birther hatred for Obama goes a long way to explaining why trump is willing to sabotage ACA and hurt America and trump's on record a number of times saying what I just posted .

This bill may be stymied in a way the House bill wasn't. Ryan was able to appease the Freedom Caucus and when he did their votes tipped the balance. Here, McConnell is caught between enough negative votes on both sides to kill the bill. He won't win over Collins, et al by appeasing Paul, et al.
