McConnell to delay the vote on health care bill until after July 4 recess

We have been yakking about the American Medical System for many years now.

When are we going to start talking about fixing it?

This is America in 2017...

FAILING

Answer the question, bucky. Do those who make over $200,000 need that money more than the people who need access to medicaid? If so, what do they need that money for?

Do those who make over $200,000 need that money more than the people who need access to medicaid?

I'm not sure honestly if they need it more however that money will get better use to people making over $200,000.

That money will be used to create job, move this economy further.

LOL Cardinal. You assume people in poverty have it bad. They get free housing, They get food stamps. They don't pay taxes. They get discounted health care.

IMO that is discriminatory. People need to be less selfish and understand some people don’t like to take responsibility for their own ****.

IMO, it's people who make a killing and don't want to pay into a society that gave them the opportunity to want for nothing that are the real deadbeats.

As a nation, we are yearning for tax cuts. This is an unfortunate setback however I am optimistic this bill will get passed. Mitch mcConnell is the sheriff and will round up the votes!

Tax cuts are needed. Not only will they improve healthcare, but our overall economy.

A shame you don't see 1 Democrat Senator lending a helping hand to Trump or McConnell. Their true colors have been revealed. Democrats don't want to see improved health care. All they want to do is complain.

Don't lump me in that Nation ...

I'm a Business Owner; soon to be retired, who never complains about the amount of Taxes I pay, so long as I see value. My wife an I do well, Obamacare was something we would never benefit from. But I care about the Poor and Middle Class, because I've been there. It's not all about me. It's about raising all boats.

People where going bankrupt because of Healthcare before 2008. You can try to forget that all you want and I'm betting The Republicans are hopping you do.

FACT: More people have access to Healthcare than ever before in this country ... that's a Fact and that's good for the country.

Unless you're making over $250k you'e not getting jack**** for a Tax break and $250k in capital gains, you're not getting jack****.

So what's in it for you .... NOTHING ... Unless you have $250k in Taxable Income.

Tax cuts my friend will improve health care.

Here is what people on the left are missing.

Instead of spending resources on treating pepole, why isn't all our resources going on finding cures for Cancer, Aids, alzheimer, etc?

Food for thought.

LOL, that's got to be the worst talking point of all time. Just for example, we actually have pretty decent 'cures' for many kinds of cancer and AIDS but it doesn't do a lot of good if the people sick can't afford the good options already available.

Don't like taxes? Don't drive on the freeways. Don't call the fire department if your house catches fire. Don't call the police if you are robbed. Accept being attacked by the Russians, and love it..... Oh, wait, you already did that.

Danarhea, who actually likes paying taxes?

Create a fair flat tax. People making higher income shouldn't be severely penalized for being successful.

When did we find a cure for AIDS? Do you have some sort of inside information because last I heard AIDS has no cure.

Possible, but I doubt that is the reason. I don't know what each state thinks of Trumpcare, but nationwide there are around 55% of Americans opposed to Repeal and Replace. That may have been more opposition than some GOP senators were willing to go against. The problem with retaining the ACA is the number of insurance companies withdrawing from it leaving some without an option for insurance next year and if the predictions are correct come January of 2019 a third of the counties in the United States will be without a single insurance company to offer insurance and around a third of the counties down to one insurance company. Time will tell if that is correct. But if so, both Trumpcare and Obamacare will soon within a year or two or three leave 20 million Americans without insurance.

Hard realities for either side to face when all they are focused on is the here and now. Not next year or the year after or the future. Something needs to be done, neither side seems willing and each side is only interested in their own political agenda and not the nations.

America stopped realistically and prudently planning for the future a very long time ago, did you not notice?

I'm a foot soldier Cardinal. I have been to people's homes and spoken to the "people." Medicaid is a horrible system and no decent citizen wants to be on Medicaid. It doesn't improve a persons life.

That's false. Tennessee does a survey of Medicaid (Tenncare) recipients every year, and satisfaction with the care they get is VERY high. At the very least, the results from Medicaid vary widely from state to state, and you just cannot make blanket statements like that and expect to be taken seriously.

Medicaid needs to be defunded otherwhise, it will be completely non-existant in 2028. Medicaid is essentially a ponzi-scheme.

No, also false. It's a government program with current expenses funded by current taxes, no different in theory than roads or the military.

If you want to continue to fund a broken system, good for you. What are your suggestions on funding it? Should we roll back on national security and make us more susceptible to terrorist attacks?

LOL - what about the TERRORISTS!??

When did we find a cure for AIDS? Do you have some sort of inside information because last I heard AIDS has no cure.

Actually, there is still no cure for AIDS, but AIDS no longer kills you. It's manageable now.

Winston, do you think it is fair for middle/upper class Americans pay for people who choose to be unhealthy? How many people do you see that smoke? When they purchase a ciggarette the box clearly says "MAY CAUSE CANCER." Yet they continue to smoke.

Is that fair people are paying for people who choose to be unhealthy?

Mitch McConnell to delay the vote until after recess - CNNPolitics.com

:applaud

Looks like just enough GOP Senators decided to stare down the fact that Trumpcare would have thrown over 20 million Americans off of insurance coverage!

They can go buy it... nobody is stopping them from going out and purchasing it. For the couple million that might need assistance, we don't have to blow up what should be a free market system. One with competition across state lines that drives down prices and increases quality of service.

If someone can show me where a government program has come close to projections... then perhaps. Get government out of it... we'd all be far better off for it.

reminds me of one of the congregation picking & choosing the scripture they like, all while avoiding ones they don't prefer

there is a lady on Yahoo; her son was born with a defective heart with two chambers missing.
His Mom received a bill for a two week hospital stay = $231K.
Lucky for them they had excellent insurance so, they only have to pay a small percent of the $231K.

the fact is LIFE CAUSES people to be UNHEALTHY ..............

The world is unfair. You seem to propose this scenario that smokers are unfairly gaming the system and that all tax dollars that go towards curing cancer from smoking are illegitmate. I would never view the world in this light because I don't see the world's defining aspect as it's wealth. The world's defining aspect is its humanity. So, I would never, ever consider that someone was turned from a billionaire to a slight millionaire as concerning to me, and if the billionaire didn't like being downgraded my attitude would be '**** him because he will still want for nothing.' I would never choose to fight for people who already have too much, while there are people doing everything right, holding down a job, going to school, and getting kicked in the nuts by society.

As long as wealth inequality stays at current levels, rich people have jack **** to complain about. It's like Hugh Hefner complaining he hasn't banged every hot chick, or that he's only had an 8some and not a 9some.

America stopped realistically and prudently planning for the future a very long time ago, did you not notice?

I think the 20 trillion in debt verifies your statement. Life for today as their will be no tomorrow. That is our elected leaders mantra.

How many went on medicaid because of ObamaCare? They dont have that problem.

The problem with ObamaCare was that it made not the slightest effort to fix the crap way we deliver healthcare, .

Please don't talk about **** that you have no clue about. Obama cut the cost of Medicare and Medicaid in part by eliminating a meaningful amount of waste and fraud. There's plenty more to do. But stop making **** up.

The problem with ObamaCare was that it made not the slightest effort to fix the crap way we deliver healthcare, it was nothing but the cutting down of healthcare rationing because Obama decided that class inequities in rationing can not be allowed to stand. Either that or he is so stupid that he does not believe there should be any rationing at all. Then he got a wild hair and decided that men need to subsidize women, because men in this society dont have it bad enough already. Then because he could not get the numbers to work he lied about the numbers, he created a system that was not fully funded, which he hoped I am sure would ruin insurance companies and drive a follow on system that does not use private insurance but what it tends to do is destroy healthcare providers, and further destroy faith in government.

LOL, that part was funny. We poor, oppressed men.

FWIW, women subsidized our prostate cancer and ED drugs, we subsidized child birth. Why should MEN have any responsibility to pay for the cost of having kids. We've got nothing to do with that crap!

Men have little to do with deciding to have a baby, and this is after men pay for the contraception services.

Women decide, men pay, and a lot of folks like it that way.

Magic Johnson has had AIDS for 26 years. Seems like he's doing pretty well. Lots of others with AIDS are living a very good life with the disease in remission or very well controlled. Same with many forms of cancer.

Corporations starting living that way 30 years ago, it is not just government.

Magic Johnson has lived a lot longer than most people who contracted AIDS in that era. Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he could afford the expensive medication necessary while others couldn't. It's a good thing the cost of these medicines have come down since then.

What do women have to do with prostate cancer? They "pay" for that same as we "pay" for OB services.

I guess I just don't have a problem with "subsidizing" the cost of pre and post natal care. Society has a pretty large interest in having healthy babies, and I don't look at life in a way that would allow me to say to women, "You're on your own ladies!! Best of luck!" especially since we know that so many kids are already born into poverty. The very least we as society owe to them is to be born as healthy as possible. Also, too, for every mother, there is a dad, whether he's a POS or not and whether or not he helps with the cost or pregnancy and raising the child.
