Three journalists quit CNN in fallout from retracted Russia story | Fox News

Lex Harris, executive editor of CNN’s investigative unit, was the highest-ranking official to resign. Thomas Frank, who wrote the story, and Eric Lichtblau, who edited it, also turned in their resignations.

I wish there was more consequences for irresponsible journalism.
these guys deserved what they got.

Agreed. They most definitely deserved it. At the very least, CNN took the appropriate action by retracting the story, getting rid of those 3 journalists, and apologising to Anthony Scaramucci. So good on them for doing that.

But I am glad that CNN could not sweep this one under the rug

I have an ethics clause with my company as a certified PMP I also have an ethics and honesty clause to uphold when dealing in business.
it is important to have integrity and ethics in business and it is one of my core values.

I worked for a guy who was not that way and it killed me and I wouldn't even follow what he said to do a lot of times because
of it. I ended up quitting along with everyone else.

had he run his business properly he wouldn't have had to be so dishonest.

accountability goes both ways. they want to rant then let them rant and then be held accountable for their ranting.

CNN handled it well. Maybe even a bit over the top. No right wing source would ever fire three journalists at the same time. But I wonder what more do you want?

it is about time they started holding their journalists accountable.

CNN did exactly the right thing here. Showed accountability. How many Team Trump people have been fired for lying?

I know I wouldn't. I'd fire one a day for three days in a row. I dunno. I might skip a day between firing number two and number three just to keep number three guessing.

Exactly. Fox news faked a story about Seth Rich, making up lies about his death and using his grieving family as political props against their will and it took them a week to retract their obviously wrong story. They didn't even have the decency to apologize to his family.

well it wasn't just fox reporting on seth rich all newspapers were doing it.
the wiretapping thing was correct as there were FISA court papers to support that they indeeded tried to wiretap him.
also they have conversations that were recorded by with trump in the conversation.

alex jones is alex jones and is a CT nothing to do with right wing at all.

yep CNN is running fake news as it has just been proven.
all the cnn stories of so called obstruction false.
collusion false.

maybe cnn needs to vet their stories better and stop believing un-named sources.
