Justices to Hear Case on Religious Objections to Same-Sex Marriage

Oh, hey, look!

A Strawman!

That guy has an outie.

I hope the courts side with the bigoted bakers, but legal experts seem to think it won't.

Yes, I want the bigots to win the case. I wouldn't use their service but I believe private business owners should be allowed to decide which jobs they take and for whatever reason they want.

On the other hand, I fully support firing government employees who refuse to do their jobs on religious, or any other grounds.

The fact that we have to have this conversation shows the blatant violations of freedom in the name of "equality." From what I understand their refusal was never with the fact that the customers were gay, it's that they wanted them to actively use their labor, business, and brand to actively participate in an activity they believe is wrong. The cake maker should absolutely be allowed to refuse to make a cake for a gay wedding just like the gay sign maker shouldn't be forced to print "God hates fags" banners for Westboro on the basis of not discriminating against religion.

That activity was wedding between two individuals of the same sex who wanted to get married.

Here is what I want to know, if the gay couple had asked a friend to buy them the cake for their wedding, and if the baker only knew that he was making a cake for a wedding and did not know sexual orientation of the two people being married, would the baker have objected to making the cake if he did not know that he was making a cake for a gay coulple?
