A bipartisan group of senators on Friday requested more information from former Attorney General Loretta Lynch about her reported efforts to hamper the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use as secretary of state. The panel cited reports in The New York Times and the Washington Post that the FBI obtained hacked documents that suggested Lynch assured Renteria would not “go too far.” The alleged assurance was indicated in an email from then-Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Leonard Benardo of the Open Society Foundations.
Ousted FBI Director James Comey cited the email as the reason behind his decision to publicly announce the end of the investigation into Clinton’s emails, and was later used as justification by President Donald Trump to fire Comey.

The DNC now has to answer why they obstructed justice in the Hillary Clinton email server investigation. My theory is that the Clintons pressured Attorney General Loretta Lynch into squashing the investigation. Democrats will now circle the wagons, after months of attacking President Trump over similar yet unproven allegations.

What Comey testified to was not obstruction. While questionable from a moral standpoint, I don't believe there was anything illegal. Basically our entire political model has devolved into partisan witch hunts.

I enthusiastically support the spreading investigations pulling in Lynch, and hopefully Hillary and Bill, other members of the Obama Administration, including the EX President himself, Eric Holder, the DNC, and whoever else the black hole can pull in.

Investigate them all.

"We the People" deserve to see what kind of people they have elected to office, or have been hired to work for them.

In the mean time, the President can continue to chop away at the mess the previous administration fostered.

Get real, obstruction is firing the guy who is investigating you. Check out the Liar in Chiefs interview with Lester Holt, classic text book case, though I am sure you will not hold Trump accountable, one rule for Trump, another for everyone else.

Actually the deputy director of the fbi heads those investigations, not the director, and that guy is still there running the same investigation. The director of the fbi is just that, director of the fbi not head of cases being investigated, the deputy director heads high profile cases.

President Trump wasn't being investigated by the FBI. Therefore, by your standard, obstruction of justice is impossible.

An obstruction of justice charge has nothing to do with whether or not Trump was being investigation. But, as a matter of fact, even if Trump were not directly being investigated, he is and will be a party of interest.

You mean the same interview in which Trump stated that he wanted the investigation to be fully completed? That if it had to be he'd try and extend the investigation to make sure it was fully investigated? That Lester Holt interview?

Sorry, pal. Criminality is not charged "one case at a time". Lynch committed the original sin of influencing the Hillary "matter".

If it was up to me these charges would have to be filed or dropped within 6 months rather become a national ghost chasing fest.

Its a shame someone did not tell Trump the same thing before obstructing justice. Will the GOP hold him accountable, I doubt it. If the next Dem Pres is even half the liar Trump is, I am sure those free passes are partisan.

Ah so when he said that he wanted the investigation done properly and that he'd even extend the investigation to make sure it was done properly he was lying...but him mentioning Russians in that interview some how translates into him saying that he fired Comey to disrupt the investigation....man you people sure do love to spin.

He is a proven liar, and has trouble with the truth, spin it any way you want, Lester got Don to incriminate himself, can you say obstruction of justice, plain and simple.

I'm not the one spinning words. :shrug: And there is no evidence in that interview of what you claim. In fact the evidence in that interview shows the complete opposite.

Does your chest swell with pride knowing the Fraud and Chief cons disabled vets, who sacrificed for this country. As for the interview, its very clear cut why trump fired Comey, what flavor Trump water you drinking? Quoting liberal hack sites is not vidence of anything other than how partisan you are.
Comey testimony pretty much quashed any attempt at an obstruction charge.

The now acting FBI director has said the same thing. There has been no attempt to obstruct the investigation.

He has done nothing but rant about that for months now.
Even though a lot of the proposals in the budget have been wanted for some time and help the program in the long run.

But did trump obstruct justice? Comey was not in charge of the investigation and had no affect on the investigations other than being the foreman who testified before congress. But let me ask you this, has the though of comey being a serial leaker crossed your mind as the real reason he was fired.

From shortly after trump became president there was a mass of leaks directly from the whitehouse, most groundbreaking in terms of de legitimizing trump rather than showing any injustice. Prior to comeys firing there was a large number of them hitting the press, after comey was fired the leaks dried up, and went from directly from the white house to third and fourth party rumors.

I pieced it together right after comey was fired, he was the serial leaker, and my guess is the trump admin found out about it, and to add fuel to that fire russia is offering him the same exile they gave snowden, for russia to offer that, they likely know that the trump administration is planning on criminal charges against him, and likely knows the reason comey was fired.

Again I will believe pretty much all the sources that say otherwise. You know ex CIA heads,ex directors of the FBI current directors of the FBI.

Mueller will have a hard time making a case when these intelligence agencies have stated and even members of the intelligence committee including democrats have stated there was no collusion.

Same goes for obstruction. You should look into facts vs the liberal blogosphere they have a huge habit of being wrong.

If you mean collusion and obstruction over the clinton emails then there is plenty of evidence to support just that.
