Thats what killed the Russian Collusion narrative. The media and the Dems switched over to plan B, obstruction after that.

Im convinced Comey would have given the Dems everything they wanted if he knew it was his word against Trumps and the Media would have had a field day with it

This is all based upon the theory that Comey told the actual truth and not some fabricated truth, that for some reason seem to (at least in some eyes) "vindicate" Donald Trump. What if the conversation somehow implicated Comey in some fashion? Couldn't a tweet about "tapes" then influence Comey to testify differently, as in, not the truth?

The Democratics wouldn't have been charged with attempted murder despite them being the ones who created the atmosphere that got the guy so worked up.

correct. hoping is not a big deal. Democrats are allowed to hope terrible things befall Republicans and not be held liable for anything. I'm glad we could clear that up in this thread.

Sure, didnt think about that to be honest, but I think the purpose of the tweet was to insure Comey took perjury into consideration.

The WH knew by then that Comey was going to be a vengeful little bitch, and knew it would be Tumps word against Comeys, and the media circus would drown out Trumps assertions that Comey lie under Oath, so what to do ?

That tweet was brilliant, dont know who's idea it was but it was.

What a crock of crap. Trump knew he was clear and was trying to bluff Comey into forcing him to tell the truth and not make stuff up. And, Comey really didn't lie. He said right from the beginning that Trump had not obstructed justice.

Right, legally they're not chargeable for what they've been hoping & saying unless they do something else that furthers an actual action by someone.
Politically they can be called on it and they may suffer for it.
Some say that helped to knock Ossoff.

All he was doing was bluffing Comey into telling the truth and that is exactly what Comey did was tell the truth that Trump had not obstructed justice.

That tweet FORCED Comey to consider the probabillity that their conversations were taped.

That made all the difference in the world when it came to his testimony. He could either risk perjury by lying what Trump said thereby giving the collusion and obstruction narrative a huge boost, or he could tell the truth.

Comey could have embellished his testimony and it would have been his word against Trumps and the media would have had a field day with it

He didnt, he confirmed Trump was never under investigation and that Trump told him to check out his associates
His testimony killed the Russian collusion lunacy and forced the Dems to focus on obstruction

Do you find it a precarious position to hold? To simultaneously condemn Democrats for words they use and say Trump isn't responsible for the words he uses?

Otherwise it's political and everyone is responsible for what they say.

Nothing in Trump's statement is illegal, immoral, or even remotely controversial.

Comey wasn't honest about Hillary Clinton. He has a proven history of not following the law.
