While I was looking for schools to attend I happen to be remotely familiar with some of the various Virginia university government connections. As a future Old Dominion student, I can safely say that the Obama administration sent him there.

I have been in more **** holes in this world than you could ever imagine, and still, I would never consider NK a fun place to check out. Whether or not he stole a sign is irrelevant.........................it's North Korea!

Look, Otto was young & naïve .................. been there, done that ....................... but when I was his age I decided to do it in the US ........................

Otto could have made better choices in life & so could I have but I gained a life of experience from my mistakes .................. some are not so lucky .....................

I have known people that were 'assassinated' in the drug trade, two at one time (double homicide), I have known people that were busted (in Texas) with such small amounts of product that at the time it was a felony punishable by life imprisonment but now the same amount in many states is a misdemeanor, I have seen things that if I were an actor, or a producer I could write movie scripts from those experiences BUT I was very lucky, and I was also very CAREFUL

I NEVER went out of my way to gain a sale; I had others coming to me, because my product was top shelf. I was very close to a RICO prosecution but got past that with a big scare; my upper connections not so lucky. I learned a lot, I experienced life, I got lucky * I got the **** out by time I was 22.

I KNOW what it REALLY means to be in fear for your life; dealing with some people in the 'trade' when you are straight is worse than the worst 'trip' one could imagine.

I am not making light of anything BUT then again, I am not making any goddamn apologies either.

Anyone here believe that Barry Seal was actually murdered by Columbian cartel members? LOL .............

"Confessions" under duress mean nothing. Especially given that North Korea is literally the least trustworthy regime out there and has a habit of torturing prisoners into false statements.

A kid from Ohio who was raised in a nice community where folks look after each other. Crime rate is minimal, people look out for one another...... leaves home to go to college and after his first year under his belt wanted to go to China to observe the culture during Summer break. From there he sees a junket advertise for N.Korea thinking it would be good to observe too. And for that it cost him his life..

Ignorance is not bliss. But that doesn't have a damn thing to do with how he was treated!

its idiotic to blame Obama for the fate of this young man. Obama might have done more to try to get him back but his death is squarely due to thugs working for a rogue regime. Pure and simple. Beatings are most likely to reason why he was essentially brain dead when he was returned to the USA. from what medical friends of mine have said, him dying was probably a blessing because the alternative was worse for the family

good point, I wouldn't mind if some one were to say give "sicilian neckties" to the entire leadership of that rogue country in retaliation for what happened. But that is unlikely. It should serve as a warning and in the future, the only Americans going to NK should be diplomats with threat of military annihilation of NK protecting them or bomber pilots.
