" A van has reportedly crashed into pedestrians outside a mosque in London causing a "number of casualties".

Officers arrested one person after they were called shortly after midnight to the incident on Seven Sisters Road, near Finsbury Park station.

Police said they were responding to a "major incident" with "a number of causalities being worked on at the scene".

Witnesses reported seeing six people on the ground. London Ambulance Service said they had sent "a number of resources" to the incident, which reportedly happened close to Finsbury Park mosque. "

A van has ploughed through a group of worshippers as they left Ramadan services at a mosque in London, in what witnesses said appeared to be a deliberate attack.

Police said there have been "a number of casualties" in Seven Sisters Road near London's Finsbury Park Station.

Police confirmed one person has been arrested. A video posted to Twitter reportedly shows the man who was arrested, with the Twitter user claiming the man was the person driving the vehicle.

“Shocked and outraged to hear a van has intentionally run over worshippers leaving Ramadan,” Muslim Council Secretary General Harun Khan said in a tweet.

Witnesses at the scene said the van veered off the road and into pedestrians outside the mosque.

It will be ugly and ultimately, there are no winners.

If it escalates out of control, the government needs to eject them and seal the borders. I know, what a bad guy I am for saying that.

If it turns into war, doing so will save many lives on both sides.
