Changes in Cuba policy could adversely impact Trump's hotel competitors

Amazing, if I hurt your assets in a place where I don't operate, I'm not hurting you.

Brilliant, apdst. Really outdid yourself there. Your sentence literally means this:

- I own hotels in Island A and B and profit from them both. I represent no government.
- You represent the government on island C which has economic clout over Island B.
- You decide to pass a law/decree/EO/etc. which makes it harder for me to make money on Island B.

But you haven't hurt my ability to make money is what you're saying.

B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T.

These companies don't have hotels on island B. Totally missed that part, huh?

Apdst, you really don't get that you don't need to own hotels on the same islands in any of the places involved, to hurt the profits of competitors there? It's like you have no idea how hotel chains in the Caribbean operate. 10-20 islands on which Trump is going head to head with his competitors. If he makes it harder for them to operate in a location, he's hurting their profits.

Should I draw you a picture of the Caribbean?

I'm not sure what exactly sure what Trump has to do before people realize he could care less about what happens to the future of America. Trump is here to smooth the path of any regulations that may hamper his future business plans. Oh also, it appears he is hell bent on erasing anything that may leave a positive legacy for former President Obama. Obama was by no means perfect but please name President that was. Trump isn't stupid per se but he is a dishonest, evil prejudice person. For all hoping he will change, he is 70 years old. He won't.

Yeah....no.

Yeah.... no....

Getting 'tough' on Communism is sooooo 1980's BS rhetoric. But the rabid right so loves trying to go backwards in time.

You ignore his flip-flop record when it comes to who he 'lectures', who he gets 'tough' with and who he holds hands.

Cuba and Saudi Arabia have far more in common when it comes to totalitarian regimes- Cuba's only 'sin' above the Saudi tyrant is a lack of oil ... :peace

So is Trump using his office to target competitors, or are the competitors just impacted by a decision that was not intended to target competitors, but increase sanctions in general?

The first would be criminal, but the second would only be political, if Trump's order was against Cuba alone and not intended to harm competition to his own business. I'm sure that there will be plenty of answers for both reasons, depending on which side of the aisle you are on.

The fact the issue arises at all is known as 'conflict of interest'.

He did run on it. Why shouldn't he keep the campaign promise? Other than to satisfy people who didn't vote for him and won't vote for him.

Let me see.....

Donald Trump has his ties, shirts, and caps made in China, which is a Communist dictatorship.

Donald Trump bans travel to Cuba, which is a Communist dictatorship.

Makes perfect sense to........ Nobody.

Right, it doesn't hurt those companies that want to expand to Cuba.

If those companies need to expand to salvage their bottom line, then they have bigger problems.

Who said anything about "expanding to salvage the bottom line?" First off, companies don't usually expand to pay off debts. Secondly, it seems economic freedom is something you support only when it is politically convenient for you.

Did it adversely affect Trump's competitors prior to Obama's policy?
