Well yes, though, I am surprised that it would be half as expensive as Hawaii. I would have expected much lower prices, more like Romania or Russia at the beginning of the 1990s. That would be a living like the beginning of the 20th Century outside the large towns destroyed by the command economy of the Castro era.

Cuba has opened up its jails more. Arrests and detaining of political opponents has increased over the past couple of years. Which is what Trump is responding to.

The theory that economic reform leads to political reform is an interesting theory that has had a largely bipartisan pedigree over the years. But the present example of China should at least be pause for consideration as to how accurate the theory is.
