Hero homeowner holds escaped Georgia inmates at gunpoint until arrests | Fox News

A Tennessee homeowner held two escaped inmates wanted in the killing of two prison guards at gunpoint Thursday until authorities arrived and made the arrests.

Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Bill Miller said late Thursday that the homeowner caught Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose trying to steal his vehicle.
Miller says the escaped Georgia inmates had crashed a car while being chased by law enforcement and fled on foot into woods along Interstate 24 near the rural community of Christiana.

Miller says something alerted the homeowner that people were outside his home and he saw the men trying to steal his vehicle. The trooper says the homeowner held the two at gunpoint with a neighbor he called until the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department could get there to arrest them.
Rowe and Dubose are accused of killing two guards on a prison transfer bus early Tuesday. Authorities had offered a $130,000 reward for information leading to their arrests.

Well done, sir.

Or at least some significant part of it.

Yeah. I'd say that telling the police you have the escapees available for arrest is information that leads directly to their arrest. Should qualify, until they get to the,"Ah, yeah. About that $130,000. Yeah, ah, the decimal wasn't in the right place. Who knew? Anyway, here's a buck thirty. And hey, thanks."

Yeah... your post led to me thinking of a song from my youth "It don't come Easy".

The homeowner called his neighbor, that man armed himself and the two of them held the thugs at gun point. One of the citizens had an AR 15. the mopes were trying to steal the truck of the homeowner

Everyone has guns in rural Tennessee. These idiots were about as stupid as it gets in thinking they would get away clean.

I am surprised though that they gave up so easily. Report said they lost their own guns when they wrecked the stolen car.

yeah because one or both of them is going to most likely get the death sentence because IIRC at least one LEO was murdered by these thugs when they made their escape and with the felony murder law, the non-shooter is going to get LWOP-at least. But as you correctly noted, I suspect the two citizens who captured these turds probably looked pretty serious and the mopes figured they stood a better chance in the legal system then challenging the well armed "army of two"

He killed an officer in GA. Whomever did the killing will get death. Even the other one will be lucky to get LWOP.

yeah, "screwed blued and tattooed" . Killing a cop while escaping is about the best possible guarantee of a death sentence that I can think of.

The highlighted sentence explains why this wasn't a shootout. I think if the perps had guns it would have been a different scenario.

But hand it to the homeowner and neighbor they took care of watching over each other's property. I would love to see a pic of them and their age.

Well, here is a video of the homeowner. Totally different scenario than any of us imagined. Holy Crap.

A guy like that sure does bring back faith in my fellow man...in more ways than one. Thanks for sharing the video.

Look at those tatts. Yeah, their gonna blend in well. What dumbasses.

Someone said it once, "If criminals were smart, we'd all be in trouble."

And another cynical bastard said once "If criminals were smart, they would get elected to public office".
