Comey admitted single Trump leak, but were there others? | Fox News

President Trump’s legal team may be prepared to show a trail of leaks to The New York Times by former FBI Director James Comey – dating back to at least March – in a pair of complaints set to be filed to the Justice Department inspector general and Senate Judiciary Committee, a source close to the team told Fox News.

An independent Fox News review of The New York Times’ reporting dating back to January reveals a host of stories sourced from top FBI and DOJ officials – or those privy to their conversations – that either paint Comey in a positive light or push a message he was unable to personally disclose.

Though Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 3 he’d never been -- or directed another FBI official to be -- an anonymous source for news reports about the Trump and Hillary Clinton investigations, the then-FBI chief did not deny orchestrating leaks using, for instance, an old friend who works at Columbia University, or providing the information to a wide enough group to ensure it would leak.

Might Comey have been the leaker all along? This could get really interesting if there's substance to this.

No leak. Comey shared his personal memo with a friend. Trumpers are butthurt because Comey didn't genuflect before Trump like his Cabinet does.

Lol, it's a clear leak. That's not even debatable. Perhaps several now while he was still director.

If it wasn't a "leak", then why all the subterfuge?

His personal memo recounting a meeting with the POTUS easily satisfies a claim of Executive Privilege ... and it was likely written on a US Government device.
So yeah, it can be considered a leak.

Didn't trump waive executive privilege by talking about these conversations with Comey and mentioning them on Twitter? And it may be too late to claim executive privilege

James Comey called it a leak. Did he lie under oath and commit perjury?

I don't know the details but I believe he greatly weakened any case he may have had for being able to claim Executive privilege.

I never heard Trump confirm what Comey claimed was said about Flynn and in any case even Trump's denial about Comey's claim came after Comey did the leak.

I'll say this, leaking to the media is a helluva good way to get good press.

So you didn't even watch Comey's testimony the other day, eh? You know, where he testified he authorized his friend to leak the memo to the media, in the hopes it would spur the appointment of a special counsel?

I could give a rats ass who's POTUS. Comey crossed the line. Nothing to do with butthurt and obviously nothing to see but Comey's overblown ego.

Comey was a private citizen when he released those memos. Executive privilege is not applicable.

There's a presidential deliberative privilege that some contend to all discussions with the president. It's clearly not absolute in connection with court proceedings and it's also clearly available. It's not clear that there's anything unlawful about a private person's disclosure of material covered by the privilege.

Of course it is. Current his employment status is irrelevant. Even your quote hedged. The material wasn't Comey's to divulge, before or after he left the FBI.
That would create quite the conundrum if you can leave Government and be free to divulge all manner of confidential information.

Read my link. There is precedent for disallowing EP for criminal matters also. That happened to Nixon. In fact Trump is following Nixon's path....right out of office. Nixon's next step was firing the special prosecutor...do you think Trump will try the same thing? Of course he will.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Comey is such a two-faced jerk. The type who in school might be nice and give the teacher an apple, but also throw a banana peel underneath the teacher's chair.

Um... no one has given an apple to a teacher or thrown a banana peel on the floor, as a prank to make someone slip since, like... 1953?

Both of those links say the same thing.
But from what we know, the conditions that would make Comey a whistleblower haven't been met regarding Trump.
"Tall man feels icky" doesn't qualify.
But the supreme irony here is that they would be met regarding Loretta Lynch and Comey but he hasn't admitted leaking her promise to quash the Hillary email probe.
