She might as well have doused them with lighter fluid and tossed a lit match. It would have been less painful and over faster. I hope she spends the rest of her life rotting in a dank cell.

Amanda Hawkins' mother, Alisha Eddy of Kerrville, was sobbing so hard she could barely speak during a brief phone conversation Friday.

Sounds pretty ****ed up to me.....people who are this neglectful as parents usually usually had terrible role models. I do think this was neglect not a killing, and it was not just mom who did the neglect, it is everyone who was in the house, they all knew what was going on.

more are guilty here than just her:
The mother had arrived to the house with a teenage friend, who early in the morning went to sleep in the car with the children, according to the sheriff.

But “he went back inside,” the sheriff said. The children remained in the car as the sun rose over the Hill Country county northwest of San Antonio.

And then there's this, a deadbeat woman lets her own children die in her car while she parties down with someone else's kid.

The common link is a lack of concern by both women for anyone but themselves, and especially not their kids. Their actions always put their own interests ahead of the children who loved them unconditionally and whose lives depended on them - literally.

But what more should we expect? These mothers are the product of no-fault divorce, a tax code that rewards single parenting, and a culture that outright demonizes hard work and personal responsibility.

So they've played their role and finished their act. They can take a bow at the graves of their ungrown children and the societal audience can applaud and go on rewarding the behavior that led us here.

I especially like how you use the example of a man shooting his stepson as evidence for women being selfish sociopaths.

Recently we had a Canadian Goose make a nest on a small rock cropping acoss the street from our office. The rock cropping was probably about 12 ft high and around 10 ft by 10 ft at the top of it.
There were no real vegetation on the top nor any water holes. No protection from the elements.
It seemed odd she picked this location but it provided the whole building something to observe.

She had 4 or 5 eggs and proceeded to sit on them 24/7. Some people had said they seen another goose come in (possibly spouse) and give her a break to go eat and drink.
Every day she sat there. Through windstorms and rainstorms.

They finally hatched and someone who drove by on a Saturday saw her with the other goose walk the 5 goslings down the rock cropping and across the street never to be seen again.


Her commitment to her children was very impressive.

When did humans lose this commitment?

Too bad she can't be executed by SUV. But as you say, not gonna happen. Although, the incident happened in Texas. One never knows what Texas might come up with.

What about everyone else who was in a position to help those kids but did not?

The law is not ever going to be effective in preventing or bringing justice after the fact in failures of civilization on this large a scale. We can beat the **** out of mom, and of course we will because we like it, but it is not going to help much or at all.

When they started drinking and doing drugs. And I'll bet you a dime that this young mom was doing one or both.

You can't guarantee that at all. Do you know whether this young woman was living with her mother (in which case grandma might have been able to exercise control)? No, you do not.

But look at what gets talked about here, look at what the so-called journalists are writing....the Go To is to put all or as much as possible of the blame on mom, and ignore all the other people who could have made a difference but did not. This happens constantly, I say because we as a collective are unwilling to face the truth when that truth is that we the collective are ill..I say very ill.

Blame mom, beat mom, then forget about it...we dont even make the smallest attempt to deal with the underlying problems that lead to these sorts of results, which means that they will keep happening, more than likely more often even.

Armed conflicts, famine and epidemics are almost entirely limited to localized regions. If the media that exists today existed before the second half of the 20th century, you would have thought we were in the end times.

But as I said, that doesn't make the remaining suffering and loss any less real for those experiencing it.
