Report: House Intelligence Committee issues seven subpoenas - CBS News

On Wednesday, the House Intelligence Committee issued seven subpoenas -- four related to the investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election and three to the "unmasking" of Trump associates during the presidential transition.

The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the subpoenas, said that the committee also subpoenaed the National Security Agency (NSA), FBI and CIA for information about "unmasking," that is, the exposure of Trump campaign officials mentioned in classified intelligence reports, based on intercepts of conversations.

The subpoenas related to unmasking, according to the Journal, seek information about requests made by then-National Security Adviser Susan Rice, then-CIA Director John Brennan and then-U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power to unmask names contained in classified documents.

OK, let's get them ALL out there if we're going to do this.

The "unmasking" diversion... yeah, it won't work for the GOP like they hope it does.

Funny how you cons aren't whining for transparency and accountability in government whenever your team is in the spotlight.

Susan Rice lied...again, there were illegal unmaskings, Obama's NSA admitted to them and then underreported them to the FISA courts. Here's actualy evidence of multiple crimes committed, evidence is what the actual diversion ( collusion ) lacks

Barack Obama's team secretly disclosed years of illegal NSA searches spying on Americans | Circa News - Learn. Think. Do.

" Officials like former National Security Adviser Susan Rice have argued their activities were legal under the so-called minimization rule changes Obama made, and that the intelligence agencies were strictly monitored to avoid abuses.

The intelligence court and the NSA’s own internal watchdog found that not to be true.

Since 2011, NSA’s minimization procedures have prohibited use of U.S.-person identifiers to query the results of upstream Internet collections under Section 702,” the unsealed court ruling declared. “The Oct. 26, 2016 notice informed the court that NSA analysts had been conducting such queries inviolation of that prohibition, with much greater frequency than had been previously disclosed to the Court.”

I bet this revelation by Circa had something to do with these subpoenas'

So just out of curiosity, do Republicans plan on assigning any accountability to Trump for knowingly appointing a foreign agent to head up our national security, or does he get a free pass for that?

Hrrrmm... your story from whatever the **** circa is... it seems to be full of bold and empty accusations and filled with anonymous sources. I was under the impression you didn't like anonymous sources.

"...according to a recently unsealed court document"
Which unsealed document?

"reported in a top secret report in January that was just declassified"
Really? Which one was it?

"But a chart in the report showed..."
What report? The one they don't tell us which it is?

"The inspector general also found..."
I saw three reference or more to the "inspector general" in that story but the IG's name is never mentioned.

Solid news source there sport.

Lol !! I'm shocked, a purely emotional response to news that challneges your bias. Ignoring this isn't going to make it go away....

FISA's Actual Court Opinion on Illegal unmasking under Obama is just one click away...

In describing the violations, the FISA court said the illegal searches conducted by the NSA under Obama were "widespread" and created a "very serious Fourth Amendment issue."

Well let's figure all of it out and punish any wrong doing found on either side of the isle. Though I never expect the NSA to tell the truth about anything.

Good. Those poor fools may soon have the unenviable task of explaining to republicans where there really is a 'there'.

I wonder why you cut out of my post all the stuff I cited from your article. All that fluff with no sources?

Still more reliable than...

some guy claiming to read a memo who claims it was written buy some guy as reported by yet another guy at New York Times.

This will all just be a big waste of time. My wager is that either no one, on either side of the isle, will get punished. or a token low ranking person might be thrown under the bus. that will be it.

You can bet the focus won't be on the alleged collusion with Russian government officials. It'll be on who tried to trip up Trump by naming names. In short, the witch hunt will be about how to discredit anyone formerly associated with Team Obama vice getting to the bottom of any Team Trump's misdeeds.

No one ever really gets punished in any of this. It's just a puppet show for the Republocrats to pretend they're different. If the government started holding itself accountable for its corruption, the lot of the Republocrats would be a screwed.

They should focus on where ever the evidence takes them, like on the illegal unmasking that routinely occured under the Obama administration and FISA censure of Obama's NSA for not only violating the law but under reporting the violations....

The reality is that this is a dog & pony show, and nothing is going to happen on either side regardless.

Keeps people distracted from the details of the AHCA, tax "reform", and deregulation.

And keep them focused on massive deductibles ? Or having only 1 Insurer to buy health insurance from in 1/3 of the US Counties ?

I thought we addressed the whole "no sources " issue when I posted FISA's actual opinion on the widespread illegal unmaskings under the Obama administation ??

Did you link the wrong document? It has nothing to do with your presumption of guilt.

* sigh *

I know you can read, I know your'e intelligent, so what's the problem ? Read the documents
