Comey to testify publicly about Trump confrontations

Yes. Really. I want to see how a towering man that is the head of the nations top law enforcement agency is cowed and threatened, especially with the rule of law on his side..IF he actually felt 'threatened' by the words "I hope..."

Should be good cinema. Bring popcorn.

So, you're telling me you can't think of any way the President of the United States can threaten someone who works for him other than punching.

You literally can't think of any other possible way to threaten someone.

I love this.

I am telling you I am really looking forward to hearing how the man felt he was 'threatened' if in fact that is his testimony.

"So why didn't you mention this 4 months ago, Director Comey."

"Uh......"

"So now this is relevant since you were fired?"

"Uh......"

"We're done here."
I know your exemplifying here, but it's not going to be that easy at all.

Comey's going to be getting questions from anti-Trump Congress Critters as well, in a televised public hearing, and they're going to be leading and going down all kinds of paths (as is their right and obligation). The GOP may roll-over dead for Trump, but I suspect the Dems will not. They're going to be asking hard, leading, and exploring questions.

I can't wait to watch, to be honest.

Physical stature is relevant. Comey was the director of the FBI and had the rule of law behind him...also relevant. Its funny watching you people squirm. I stated quite clearly...I look forward to seeing how a 6'5" director of the FBI felt cowed and threatened. So much so that he never in 4 months expressed that he had been threatened.

You're aware that Donald Trump actually fired him in the end, right?

Looks like obstruction of justice is still in play.

Comey to testify publicly about Trump confrontations

Fired FBI director James Comey plans to testify publicly in the Senate as early as next week to confirm bombshell accusations that President Donald Trump pressured him to end his investigation into a top Trump aide's ties to Russia, a source close to the issue said Wednesday.

Our Right Wing loves Russia. So, they will probably cheer Trump's move to sell us out to them.

Yup, two relevant things right there.

1. Comey is director of the FBI, having the rule of law behind him

2. Comey is 6'5".

Will be interesting to see how he handles the pointed questions from Senators on his having a major height advantage on the President.

This should be awesome. We should also expect for the FBI to turn over all those memos, and then it will be fun to hear how the 6'5" head of the FBI can claim he felt threatened or intimidated to obstruct justice but didnt report it throgh the appropriate channels for 4 months. This should get exciting!

I imagine what with all the 'evidence' presented to date, the arrests should be coming any day now.

Exactly right.

You're aware that Donald Trump actually fired him in the end, right?
Indeed. and according to a whole lot of leftists thats a GOOD thing because to them, Comey was a corrupt partisan liar.

Now...if it was done as retaliation for something...Trump is well and truly screwed. We can agree on that. If it was done because he was inept (as most leftists seem to believe he was) then 1-his firing was justified and 2-according to his replacement it has ZERO impact on the ongoing investigation.

Do YOU think Comey is a liar?

:lamo WTF was that? Certainly not an answer to the question...and yet you felt compelled to chime in. So...

Is James Comey a liar?

This wasn't directed at me, but I will give my response. Yes, Comey is a liar. So is every human being alive...it's part of the human existence. That having been said, he has proven himself to be more trustworthy, in my mind, than Trump. (also more trustworthy than Hillary, but this thread isn't about her)
That having been said, nobody, on either side unless they have access to privileged information has nothing more than speculation to go by...I choose to wait before committing.

1 clear answer. If the president threatened him or in any way attempted to order him to bury an investigation, I'd say sayonara senior Trump. If the president said man...I hope this thing can all go away (without an 'or else' attached), then I'd say my opinion would be similar to what Comeys apparently was. Not something he was comfortable with (apparently. Love to see the memo) but not something he felt hindered the investigation in any way and under oath not something that he felt he was ever forced or compromised over.

Certainly will come to bear if he claims he felt physically intimidated. Similarly, part 1 will be relevant if he felt professionally intimidated. Either way, I really look forward to hearing how the 6'5" Director of the FBI felt 'threatened'...if that is in fact his testimony.

Ahh, so you can conceive of something other than punching! Interesting.

Now, you'll never admit to even the possibility that Donald Trump fired Comey in order to impede Comey's investigation into Trump's campaign. That would be admitting Donald Trump was capable of committing the crime of obstruction of justice.

But: Can you admit the possibility that Comey was concerned about being fired for that reason, even if that belief was wrong?

I want to see it, too. Hell, if Trump was guilty of some kind of foreign espionage, I want to know that, too. I'm always for the truth.

But so far, this is just a big, political witch hunt based on nothing but sour grapes and fear. Outsiders like Trump aren't supposed to be allowed into the country club, and they're scared out of their minds what he might turn up.

Democrats and Republicans can't protect each others secrets with a bull like Trump roaming around with clearance to uncover them.

:lamo Oh Deuce. See...if you werent so interested int he 'gotcha' comments you would have recognized my comments were consistent all along and included both the physical AND the professional threat...which we both are apparently eager to hear his testimony regarding. Correct?

It is extraordinarily stupid to think Comey will claim he felt Donald Trump was threatening to physically assault him. That's not going to be his testimony. You're might be the first person on the planet to think that's even possible.

This is NOT a question of 'more trustworthy than _______'. It is a question of Is he trustworthy. Is he a liar? Just answer the question.

Err.

COMEY: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that -- without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don't see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I'm talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal. It's not happened in my experience.

Hmm.

If Comey comes out now saying he was obstructed with, doesn't it invalidate his under oath testimony to congress? Wouldn't that be perjury then?

Don't the two testimonies have to agree with each other? Can't contradict each other?

Oh, no, I've gotten exactly what I wanted out of you.
Yay! You got everything that was present all along. Apparently your mental masturbation was successful and you feel like a 'winner'.

Err.

Yes, there is that troublesome little detail.

"Why did you lie under oath the last time, Director Comey?"

Certainly will come to bear if he claims he felt physically intimidated. Similarly, part 1 will be relevant if he felt professionally intimidated. Either way, I really look forward to hearing how the 6'5" Director of the FBI felt 'threatened'...if that is in fact his testimony.

Your comments on Comey's height are idiotic. I've seen no reports that Comey felt intimidated, only that Trump may have tried to intimidate him by implying that Comey could lose his job if he didn't play ball.

Its extraordinarily comical that you think stature has no relevance in intimidation. Its equally comical that you ignored part 2 (like so many of your little buddies) and only focused on the comment re stature and after numerous posts of me posting the EXACT SAME THING you suddenly see the part about professional intimidation and think you are 'winning'. I will say this for you...you have attracted...company.

Great point! The fact Comey is 6'5" should do him in. Why didn't the coward simply beat the crap out of Trump?

Yeah, President Trump couldn't take Comey's lunch money even if he tried. Lol!!!
