Robert De Niro: Once inspiring, US now tragic dumb comedy

Tickety boo? Please explain the tickety boo Mal.

Well, I mean the right thought over-the-hill celebrities getting political was tickety-boo when it was Clint Eastwood expressing contempt for Obama.
Oh, you mean the expression 'tickety-boo'? Not sure but I think it's Irish. You never heard it before? Here, have a glass of schmatlz...

I've already explained my stance....Maybe you should go on back and read the thread.
So, generic conservative partisan bias. Got it.

Unfortunate....I go to a concert to hear great music, not be preached a liberal mantra....

Yeah, but what you want comes second to what the artist wants. Ever been to Carlos Santana? He'll get all cosmic on ya. Worst I saw, I think, was John Mclaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Fantastic musician, but kind of an evangelical Hindu.

I would think as a parent that could have been footing the $50K per year bill, I'd have to ask what the hell was I paying for after hearing this kind of political screed sanctioned by the school administrators....

Reminds me of Once upon a Time in America, where he and James Woods end up on opposite sides after growing up best friends, only for real.

True enough, but musicians today seem to think that their opinion is what everyone is paying $125 to see. It's not.....The best concert I've been to recently was Joe Bonamassa...Simply outstanding...

These artists who are sure that they must push their politics on the rest of us are debasing the art.

Their priorities suck.

I'd wager my Martin guitar that if Ted Nugent or Kid Rock were speaking rather than Deniro, you'd be fine with it.

* Gasp ! *

I would NEVER risk my Martin on anything....well unless it was a sure thing and I was getting a vintage D-28 out of the deal.

DeNiro could have been describing his career. Once inspiring now a tragic comedy of what it was.

Performance is supposed to decline with age in humans, not so in countries

The US has deteriorated by all measures (except for higher education, which is why his complaint mixes well with the advice he gave) at the rate you would expect a stage 4 cancer patient. Unless all 300 million of us has stage 4 cancer, there's no excuse for it

My personal favorite De Niro character/acting role
