Robert De Niro: Once inspiring, US now tragic dumb comedy

No it is not - it is the inability of people to filter out Bull**** and think for themselves.

One does not preclude the other. This being the case you need to make a better argument if you want me to take you seriously.

Yes, and knowing me personally like you do....Oh wait....

Your post history allows sufficient insight.....leopards, spots.

It depends....see, I don't think that a commencement address should be filled with political blather from either side....In a speech like that, the speaker is supposed to be someone that inspires the newly minted graduates to go into the world with a vigor to put their education to use, and be the best they can. NOT the best political agitator they can be.....
And if the speaker believes that being politically active is a good use of their education?

Or is that off the table if the speaker is on the left side of the spectrum...?

It's funny how more things change the more they stay the same. Conservatives in this country have despised academica, artists and intellectuals going back 100 years.

Actually intelligence seems to be the problem. No one on the right seems to value it and attempts to discredit those that show it. If you can't see the clown show in Washington and the dumbing down of our Govt. that is going on there is a reason.

Anymore it gets very difficult to figure out how much of the problem is stupidity and how much is bad morals....however.....I will always point out that back in the 1980's the elite absolutely knew what the truth was, and all too often made the conscious choice to not speak it if they felt doing so would harm the fulfillment of their will, the driving of their political agenda. This being the case, and given the vast evidence that morality has declined significantly since then, I tend to assume that these assholes are immoral as a group, though I do my best to maintain a presumption of innocence for each individual.

I've already explained my stance....Maybe you should go on back and read the thread.

It's common sense - i was exactly correct.

Of course you will ignore anything that challenges your narrow beliefs.

Does not bother me at all if you want to stay in the dank darkness.

riiiiight.....

Your's as well sir....Tigers, stripes.

Of course my history does, same as everyone else.

I, however, do not blindly follow Trump like a lap dog, blindly agreeing with all if his stupid ****.

Therein lies the the difference.

I'd wager my Martin guitar that if Ted Nugent or Kid Rock were speaking rather than Deniro, you'd be fine with it.

Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair. It was just tickety-boo then. Charleton Heston holding a rifle over his head. Pure gold.
I wonder how this scene at a Roger Waters concert will play...

No, you blindly follow the media masters that regurgitate talking points you need to make your foolish slurs, and stupid slams that you think are clever, but everyone else sees as less than relevant to the topic.

Unfortunate....I go to a concert to hear great music, not be preached a liberal mantra....

Trump's continuous failures and lies are there for everyone to see.

Evidentially some folks are too stupid to look.

Keep preaching that hate brother....That's all you have....Broken record.

Exactly my point. Cognitive dissonance.

Not sure you know any....

What's wrong, have a bad weekend, you're just full of insults.

That's ok, you're harmless, unless you break a fingernail.
