The president of Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, says he is “grateful” for the “passion and courage” demonstrated by a mob of students that has taken over his campus and driven a professor to teach off campus due to concerns for his safety.

“Why is it all these black women and femmes doing all this emotional labor in this space?” one student shouts. “These white-a** faculty members need to be holding him and him and all these people accountable!”

Another student says: “I said, I’m tired of white people talking about what black and brown people need. You don’t know.”

Mr. Bridges tries to answer, “I’m just trying to respond—”

“Stop giggling and laughing every time we say something!” another student yells at the school president.

He tries to respond, “I am not giggling—I’m not laughing at you.”

“That’s how whiteness works!” another Evergreen student yells at Mr. Bridges, who is white. “Whiteness is the most violent f***ing system to ever breathe!”

That footage came at the end of a May 23 meeting between the administration and students. Much of the more damaging footage was not included in initial videos posted to social media by the students.

The video also appears to be the one students alleged was “stolen by white supremacists and edited to expose and ridicule the students and staff.” In their demands last week, students ordered it be “taken down by this administration by this Friday.”

This is what 90 percent of America's crap universities for C-level high schools has devolved into. Just SJW training stations that produce completely unhireable "graduates".

White professors not allowed to go to work and teach their classes. Unreal.

I lived in Olympia for a few years during the 90's. Evergreen State College was notorious then for catering to the hippie crowd and producing scores upon scores of graduates that went on to become baristas. Looks like the more things change...

They drink a lot of coffee out there so I guess it all makes sense.

Evergreen is a joke even to liberals, especially this one. The green referring to all the potheads that go there. It's still just a college. Unlike Central, Western and Eastern which have all become respected Universities in WA State, Evergreen can't get to 2nd base.

We have one poster on this board who I suspect went there. He shall go unnamed. He brags about his superior education. Yet his grammar is that of a 12 year old. He sits around and gets baked every day.

He's also a Trump supporter. You should be so proud.

The hypocrisy displayed in that video would be funny if this weren't actually happening. Not even mentioning the irony that these people are literally calling for segregation when people not too long ago were being beaten in the streets and killed to end segregation. I don't even want to think about the pain that must cause to someone who lost someone during that time or personally went through that struggle to see what is currently happening.

Also, I agree with the other poster on calling them animals was over the top. They aren't even close to UC Berkeley students. They maybe misguided but I didn't see any one rioting or causing violence. Even though calling for white people to be removed from campus is despicable imo, they are at least doing it the right way with protests and not rioting.

What else would you call people that corner an elderly defenseless woman into a corner like that?

This world is full of DNA-mutated animals that look like humans, and they come in every color, creed, and nationality.

Evergreen's acceptance rate is reportedly 98.9%, so I think you can add "bottom of the barrel that no other college would accept" to your list.

I bet if you talked to her, she would be a little miffed at your characterization. She is older, but not elderly and she looks more annoyed than anything. She is not cornered, she is literally standing in front of a door.
It doesn't look any more intimidating than the tea party protests of 2009, which had plenty of shouting out and shoving and whatnot.

I'm gonna get on my soapbox for a moment here, because I think this is important. Dehumanization is one of the greatest evils of humanity. Whether you look at the Holocaust, Rwanda, the Khmer Rouge you will see the opposition reduced to something that isn't human because that is how you can excuse doing evil things against them. The other prong of this problem is when we look at perpetrators and pretend that it isn't human to do those awful things, because then we deny our own capacity for violence and evil and that is when we become susceptible to it ourselves.

Yes, there are a few people in this world that are deranged and sociopathic, but the vast majority of us aren't that much different from each other.

We are all the product of our decisions and actions.

If you are that easily drawn into a mob in that fashion, you're a non-thinking vegetable/animal. Your an animal that operates solely by instinct without thought.

I just call it what it is.

So not all. So obviously the theme was their behavior that made them animals. Not their skin color.

Did you even see the video? I'm pretty sure the white people featured are not the ones he's calling animals.

Wow, you're actually doubling down on this rather than trying to say that it was simply an expression.

Dehumanizing people is evil. I just call it what it is.
