The U.S.-led coalition has increased the number of bombs dropped on the Islamic State by about 50% this year, reflecting the progress U.S.-backed ground forces have had in pushing militants out of key strongholds in Iraq and Syria.
A total of 14,192 rockets, bombs and other munitions were dropped in the first four months of this year, up from 9,442 during the same period in 2016, according to the latest monthly statistics from U.S. Air Forces Central Command.
The important part, the one that makes me glad Trump's president:
The increase comes as President Trump has given battlefield commanders more authority to approve airstrikes and raids, which has quickened response times. “He delegated authority to the right level to aggressively and in a timely manner move against enemy vulnerabilities,” Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said last week.

Under former president Barack Obama, many of those decisions were reserved for the military's highest levels.

If Trump does nothing else right, he's set fighting the fight in the hands of the warfighters not the politics of DC. That's where it belongs.

So, Bravo Mr. President, bravo!

Kaboom!

I want military leaders in the field making these decisions quickly with the Pentagon. I don't want a president calculating what his political polling will look like for three weeks before he makes a decision.

It staggers the mind that despite how much of a complete pig's breakfast America has made out of every Middle East/Africa foray since the end of the '91 Iraqi War that people still call for more American involvement over there.

'Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting the same result.'

Nothing good will come from this for America...NOTHING. They will just make everything worse. Like she did in Mogadishu, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and on and on.

Brave American soldiers will probably die in the middle of nowhere, thousands of innocent locals will get killed by 'well intentioned' American strikes/battles, taxpayers will have to foot the ginormous bill and the entire situation will be far, FAR worse than before America got involved...PLUS, innocent American civilians will get killed by terrorists who resent America butting in where it is NONE OF HER BUSINESS.

Neocons...

INCREDIBLY ignorant.

What staggers the mind is that you think terrorist attacks would be less if we didn't intervene militarily. That's patently ridiculous.

How do you know we wouldn't have suffered a hundred more 9/11's if not for the military action? You don't.

Liberal armchair quarterbacks.

Wow. That is giving Obama and Bush quite the benefit of the doubt there.

Tell me the last major terrorist attack in the US in the 16 years since 9/11? Nothing like what Europe is seeing. Plot after plot is being foiled.

BTW - of course, that Einstein quote is wrong (I just saw it now).

The proper one is:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein

What staggers the mind is that you people think you can just drop bombs and make hate disappear from the world.
