President Trump asked two of the nation’s top intelligence officials in March to help him push back against an FBI investigation into possible coordination between his campaign and the Russian government, according to current and former officials.

Trump made separate appeals to the director of national intelligence, Daniel Coats, and to Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency, urging them to publicly deny the existence of any evidence of collusion during the 2016 election.

Coats and Rogers refused to comply with the requests, which they both deemed to be inappropriate, according to two current and two former officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private communications with the president.
Kerist on a Cross -Ya just cannot make this stuff up. How long before he is impeached?

So many anonymous sources. These stories are so worthless and boring.

Just like Nixon's were.

Just like Nixon's were.

At least with Nixon there was a verifiable story underlying everything, which was the Watergate break in.

Kinda like your 'diversity and multicultural' rants........boring! Oh, and worthless!

Yes because the Washington Post has never produced evidence to support an impeachment before.

Cough, cough, Watergate, Cough, Cough.

Yeah, gotta trust those "current and former officials"...forgetting of course that:

1. Almost ALL the "former" officials were likely as not removed from office as appointees of the prior administration, and have an axe to grind, while...

2. those "current" officials are like as not low-level civil servants blinded by the #ResistTrump dystopia into making up stories they know will see print false or not.

Why? Simply because the MSM will quote anything in a sensationalizing negative story, then hide behind "we didn't create the story, we are quoting someone ELSE" anonymous source blinders.

Ever wonder why so many high level leaks are occurring?

I have to think Trump's own staff don't much care for the guy. Or perhaps some of the assholes in his inner circle.

Give it time. But you won't here this on Fox News.;)

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

If the GOP in congress is like DP's Trump supporters, never. They'll deny the NSA exists before they heed a statement made by its director.
This makes 3 senior level leaks where trump and or his staffers tried to interfere with an investigation.

Once the FBI rolls one, the others facing jail term will roll as well.
IMHO regardless of how long this investigation by Mueller goes on, people are going to jail.

Keep on denying high level leaks. People are going to jail

Perhaps. I'd like to see it happen while it still matters (to the nation, that is), though these things have a history of taking forever.

I suspect we'll head into the 2018 elections without more than accusations vs. denials on each side.

That and people with access to information are placing it out for the public to see.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

Ever wonder why so many high level leaks are occurring?

Because a significant amount of people don't like Trump for various reasons.

I have the feeling that charges will be laid, for some in early 18.

And so what? It is not a secret govt cabal trying to dump Trump

Your point is??

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

So Comey, Coats, and Rogers have all said no?

Better hire that special counsel, Orange Donald.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

It's one thing to be skeptical.

It's another to ignore how many (albeit not all) of the leaks are turning out to be true, and substantiated later. Including leaked stories confirmed by President himself via Twitter.....

No credible evidence exists to suggest that's the case.

Please demonstrate that's the case here.

Thanks!
