Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Comey

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

It's one thing to be skeptical.

It's another to ignore how many (albeit not all) of the leaks are turning out to be true, and substantiated later. Including leaked stories confirmed by President himself via Twitter.....

I'm not saying that these are all necessarily false. But a lot of them are, and you're better off just waiting for the story later be confirmed or denied.

It's another to ignore how many of the very sensational stories turned out not to be true, or left unconfirmed, and no further follow up to clarify, better for the destroy Trump news media to just 'let it hang there'.

'Rosenstein threatened to quit over Comey memo'
(Rosenstein said he didn't).

'Comey was going to ask for more money for Russian collusion investigation'
(McCabe testifies to congress the investigation properly resources)

'Trump obstructed justice by telling Comey to stop investigation of Flynn'
(Comey testifies before congress that no one interfered or obstructed the Flynn investigation)
(If Comey felt obstructed in his investigations, it would be a felony for him NOT to report it to his superiors in DOJ. He never did).

Trump gave classified secrets to the Russians during their White House meeting
(McMaster later game out and no that didn’t happen, and he WAS PRESENT in those meetings)

Face it. Today’s ‘news’ media is little more than leftist propaganda from their echo chamber’s talking points, and should be credited with the credibility there of.
(which is to say none at all)

I reserve the right to remain skeptical of the news media's reporting, until the quality of said reporting improves.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

Or is it?

No, I think it's pretty safe to say that it is government cabal (Obama hold overs), that are sabotaging Trump.
Further, all the required conditions for exactly what we are seeing, were laid by the previous administration.

Kerist on a Cross -Ya just cannot make this stuff up. How long before he is impeached?

And this is why the Trump administration has no credibility (and not just because Trump himself lied 586 times since he took office):

“The problem wasn’t so much asking them to issue statements, it was asking them to issue false statements about an ongoing investigation,” a former senior intelligence official said of the request to Coats.

In other words, if you work for Trump, you will be expected to make false statements for the purpose of defending the reputation of the President.

Every time I think the White House's credibility couldn't go any lower, Trump finds a newer, lower surface to scrape.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

Is this illegal?

Interfering with an investigation- Well yes it is.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

Ever wonder why so many high level leaks are occurring?

Ever wonder why their replacements nomination processes were slow walked?

Its hard to stop leaks when you can't replace Obama loyalists.

So many anonymous sources. These stories are so worthless and boring.

What's your guess, 50% chance it's all true?
Might be some awkward days ahead in Trumpistan.

I read these stories as I would listen to office gossip. I stick to stories with verified facts, or admissions from the administration.

I know! You just can't get away with nothing!

No you don't. I've read your posts. You're all over anything that says what you want to hear, no matter how shady the source.

What falsehoods or rumors have I posted?

Not what I said, is it.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

If these things are true they will be uncovered in the official investigation. These agency heads aren't going to lie for Trump is asked questions by investigators, especially under oath.

Don't ask me to take a stroll down your posting history because I can't be arsed, but you know what I'm talking about.

Somebody here, can't remember who but somebody who knows how things work, suggested Comey might be given amnesty re. his testimony too Congress and that would remove his ability to plead the 5th.

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

Interfering with an investigation- Well yes it is.

How is that interfering?

Re: Trump asked intelligence chiefs to push back against FBI collusion probe after Co

'Rosenstein threatened to quit over Comey memo'
(Rosenstein said he didn't).
I didn't say they were all true. But many of them are -- including those cited by defenders of Trump.

'Comey was going to ask for more money for Russian collusion investigation'
(McCabe testifies to congress the investigation properly resources)
McCabe was not aware of any requests or intent; that doesn't mean Comey did not intend to ask for more resources.

1) The claims that Trump obstructed justice are not leaks, and so far it's looking like almost every basis for that allegation are correct.

2) The firing of Comey is part of the allegation that Trump is obstructing justice.

3) The claim that it would be a felony for Comey not to report alleged obstruction by the President is total bull**** and a desperate defense (https://lawfareblog.com/no-jim-comey-not-legal-jeopardy).

Trump gave classified secrets to the Russians during their White House meeting
(McMaster later game out and no that didn’t happen, and he WAS PRESENT in those meetings)
Try again.

McMaster gave a classic non-denial denial, the likes of which he himself had publicly criticized during his career.

Then, Trump torched McMaster, by admitting twice that he did in fact give the Russian foreign minister and ambassador classified information.

What else seems to be true?
• National Guard round-up-undocumented-immigrants memo (not enacted, but real)
• Torture EO draft
• Religious freedom EO draft
• Call with Turnbull
• Call with Estevez
• Yemen raid info
• Flynn's contact with Kislyak
• Tax form leaked (hyped but real)
• Infrastructure priorities leaked
• Spending plans leaked
• Health care plans and tactics leaked
• Tax plan leaked
• Mar-a-Lago patrons
• Lynch unmasked NSA surveillance (did you protest that one vehemently?)

I'm sure there is more, but there are only so many minutes in the day.

Let's not forget that many of these leaks are by administration insiders, who are floating ideas to gauge the feedback, want to spin the story their way, want to trip up the media (yes really) and/or are engaged with constant knife fights for influence.

Not to mention that the people denying the leaks don't exactly have a lot of credibility. Especially with something like the Comey firing, where Trump switched his story a dozen times in a week, including undermining his own staff in doing so.

The leaks are real, my friend.
