Point #1 is a flat out lie on your part. The Klan was the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party and openly supported and accepted by them.

Point #2: Yes Byrd did once gave a speech recanting the Klan, but that the nasty little weasel made dozens of racist comments after showed it to be BS. "exemplary in the Civil Right's of the Sixties" Robert Byrd voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act and lead Southern Democrats in a failed filibuster attempt against it. He was the most Dixiecrat of the Dixiecrats. Protip: do some actual research and you wont keep getting destroyed by people like me.

Point #3: I do not like Strom Thurmond of the over 100 Dixiecrats who opposed African American civil rights he was one of 3 who became Republican, and the original cause of the propaganda that all Dixiecrats became Republicans.

Although there are some racist who have claimed the Republican Party, unlike Democrats, Republicans never claimed them. The GOP is now and always has been the party of Lincoln.

Casca ignores the relevant fact that in the 1920s that the KKK was popular in Indiana and Wisconsin and Idaho and Washington.

The Klan was founded by Democrats, for decades it was the terrorist arm of the Democrat party, It was openly acknowledged and praised by Democrats including President Woodrow Wilson.

(1) Shifting your deflection only reveals your lie. The Democratic Party did not start the KKK. The Democratic Party in the South and the GOP in the upper Midwest in the 1920s benefited from it.

(2) Byrd became a great American, who received stellar civil liberty ratings at the end of his life. Your ignorance is obvious.

(3) Most of the southern white dems did become GOP after the 1960s. Yes, Strom was a butt.

(4) The GOP does claim the Alt Right, which is racialist, anti democracy, nativistic, nationalistic, and xenophobic.

Please do some reading, then think about you read. You are acting from confirmation bias, not American clear sightedness.

Casca is once again wrong. The KKK was not founded by the Democratic Party, and the KKK flourished in Republican strongholds in the Upper Mid West and the upper Pacific Coast.

They were also a huge presence in Oregon and Northern California well into the 50s, What is your point?

Between WW1 and WW2 there was a movement for a State of Jefferson; Southern Oregon and Northern California forming a 4th west coast state. The Democrat party was some of the strongest opposition and used the KKK to help prevent it.

What the hell are you talking about? Grab a history book. The Klan was founded by former confederate army soldiers who joined the Democratic Party: their leader was Nathan Bedford Forrest. They're a terrorist organization and have always worked hand in hand with the Democratic Party.

Alt Right? A movement whose unofficial leader is a Homosexual Jewish Guy who cant stop bragging about his Black Boyfriends, I'm not sure I would classify them as a White Supremacist group.

TR introduced laws that kept the robber barons/crony capitalist under control. Laws that keep the system honest are not endorsements of socialism.

It took Reagan a while to clean up the Carter mess just like it will take Trump a while to clean up the Obama mess.

I have University History Professors you have Solon.com, why not just quote CNN and Buzzfeed while you are at it.

Sorry that you can't accept reality. I've already described to you the circumstances of the Klan's founding, and it wasn't the Democratic Party that did so. There is no rational basis for making that claim.

Look it up because they are wong. You will find no primary document that says the KKK was founded by the Democratic Party. The were the origination of a half dozen CSA veterans.
