Under political fire at home, U.S. President Donald Trump sealed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia on Saturday on his maiden foreign trip as he struggled to shift attention from the aftermath of his firing of the director of the FBI.

The arms deal, plus other investments that U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said could total up to $350 billion, was the central achievement of Trump's first day in Riyadh, first stop on a nine-day journey through the Middle East and Europe.

Speaking to journalists after a ceremony to exchange agreements, Trump said it was a "tremendous day" and spoke of "hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs. So I would like to thank all of the people of Saudi Arabia."

Taking "credit" for making history arming a regime guilty of war crimes, extensively arming the most oppressive, most sexist, most homophobic, most intolerant country on earth. Ensuring that this country can continue to spread its putrid extremist ideology, supporting its regional hegemony and influence. A country where there is currently a woman on trial for "witchcraft" and a poet scheduled for execution for atheism.

And I should care about Obama because? is this really how your worldview works? if you have problems funding war crimes, persecuting women, gay people, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, you would oppose this deal, regardless of what other people would do or have done.

Were I Trump, I would tell the Saudi Royal Family (SRF) to feck off. If they want American arms, they MUST clean up their horrific human rights record and have free and fair elections WITH women getting the vote as well as men.


I can just hear the excuse of the pathetic neocons; 'but they are an ally'.

In my book, you don't ally yourself with horrific governments who commit loads of human rights abuses - especially during peacetime.


And America has no need at all of Saudi oil. She could easily make up the loss from that scumbag SRF from other oil exporters.

Penalty flag! Note that Lone Wolf spoke of the regime, not the religion. Muslims are no worse than Christians or Jews, Hindus or Buddhists. All religions of beauty and inspiration to millions, all with skeletons in their closets, all capable of perverting their principles or scriptures, all capable of inspiring terror.

Saudi Arabia is a theocratic monarchy. It's official state religion is Islam.
