Fox fires Bob Beckel for racially insensitive remark

Fox gave no details on the incident. But lawyer Doug Wigdor said Beckel allegedly left his office when a man came to work on his computer, saying he was doing so because the man was black.

Beckel is an unstable individual but this is shocking news. I much prefer Juan Williams on the 5 however Juan has been shifting left imo. Jesse Waters has been a nice welcome addition. Fox is reorganizing but they have a lot of talent that can carry the network.
 
Douglas Wigdor and Jeanne Christensen, lawyers handling a growing racial discrimination lawsuit filed by current and former Fox employees, said in a joint statement that Beckel told one of their clients, a black IT worker, that he was leaving the office while the employee serviced his computer because the employee is black. When the IT worker filed a complaint, Beckel attempted to intimidate him to withdraw it, Wigdor and Christensen said.

He said it directly to the person and then attempted intimidation, according to attorneys.


Is anyone surprised when the token liberal among fringe conservatives is a racist? That's like a 'get into the club free' card when it comes to fringe conservatives.

I disagree, Shep Smith, Juan Williams and several other liberals work at fox.

But the liberal token on that show had the 'get into fringe conservative group' free card. Can't be surprised.
 
Beckel was my least favorite on The Five, because he really looks borderline drunk, senile, or like he's recovering from a stroke.
Plus the guy was just too Left for my liking.

But still, I find it hard to believe that Beckel was seriously being racist - he was probably just being his usual flippant grumbly self.

I don't think it's just the liberal that was racist.......it's "widespread racial discrimination at the network."

LOL, I guess that's how Juan Williams got in the club. Nice try though--apologize for the racist behavior of a liberal by blaming the right. It takes guts to post something that stupid, so props for that.

On a personal level out of the arena of politics, Juan Williams is likeable. I am glad to see Beckel go away. However I have often wondered who actually writes the paychecks of Williams or Beckel. When issues come up on the Five, they were never giving their own opinions, they were simply acting as democrat strategists whose job is to defend the left on whatever issue came up, even if they knew the left's stand on some issues was pure bull sh*t. In all fairness, the DNC should have been paying them.

You're wrong. He made his position clear. Leaving a room because a black person is there is not racist to him. He supports "separate but equal" "racialists".

Being a racist is not the only way to get into a fringe conservative circle. It's just a way. No one should be surprised when a token liberal in a fringe conservative group is a racist.

There's a lot of old Democrats that weren't exactly pure with the race question. Bob was always a cantankerous man, to boot.

Why would you have a problem with a Mexican taking care of your property? I use Mexican labor some times and I don't have a problem with them, so why are you against Mexicans?
