Sheriff Clarke says he is taking Homeland Security post

Jesus Christ. Is there a requirement to have a history of Russian connections in order to be in Trump's circle?

Is there a requirement to perpetuate lies based on anonymous sources?

But, but, but, but... HER EMAILS!!!

There are just SO many coincidences here. What's just one more for the Trump worshipers to deny?

Seriously, I don't think Putin knows as many Russians as Trump does.

DJT values/rewards loyalty to his detriment, see Gen. Flynn.

Yes, if you kiss his butt and tell him he is great he will be on your side no matter what. This is becoming quite effedent

Are you confused about what it means to take someone into custody? That made him responsible for that person, and he neglected to give them drinking water.
Ah, I see where your confusion comes from. You are not familiar with the details of Mr. Thomas's death. Clearly, you are also not familiar with who was really charged with negligence in the case. Finally, you would appear to be unaware that a person needs to have actually contributed to a murder in order to be charged with murder.

Why the dodging? What are the medals and which ones are fake? I am beginning to think you made two false accusations in the same post.

Lol, the sheriff works as a CO?

Oh, i do love to clarify when other people are incredibly ignorant on a serious issue.

Yes, you see, Clarke is the sheriff who was in charge of the correctional facility that not only killed a man with dehydration, with staff turning off his water and then refusing to provide water, but also a newborn baby from a mother who went into labor while in custody.

Sheriff's Department takes control of county jailEdit
In January 2008, a National Institute of Corrections audit of the Milwaukee County House of Correction in Franklin identified 44 areas of concern, calling the House of Correction "dysfunctional" and determining that it suffered from "serious security, staff morale and management flaws." The House of Corrections was at the time a separate Milwaukee County department overseen by a superintendent who reported to then Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. Walker and the County Board transferred control over the House to the Sheriff's Department under Clarke on January 1, 2009.[34]

Death of Terrill ThomasEdit
The Milwaukee County Jail turned the water off to inmate Terrill Thomas' cell, resulting in his death by profound dehydration on April 24, 2016. According to inmates, the water was turned off for six days and the staff refused to provide water to Thomas. On September 15, 2016, the Milwaukee medical examiner ruled Thomas's death a homicide.[35] Later that day Clarke's office sent out a press release which stated it would be "withholding employee internal investigations and will not be commenting on this matter until the completion of all [sic] investigative and review processes, and any resultant civil litigation."[36][37] Asked about the lawsuit in March 2017, Clarke said that he had no comment on the lawsuit but noted Thomas' criminal background.[38]

The coward can't even apologize for the staff he's in charge of, blaming the victim for being a criminal. That's disgusting. Shutting off water is torture. This man should be in prison.

Shutting off water is common when an inmate is suspected of having internal contraband, or flooding their cell (granted, drinking water should be provided) But if the boss is responsible for every employees misdeeds, where does that leave, like every president, ever?

Remember Harry S Truman's sign?

Wrong. You commented about him being 'well dressed' .

Actually that was justbubba. not me.

My comment was on the don lemon video.

*keeping my not be mean today anymore promise.*

Without providing water in some other form, it is an unconstitutional act; torture.

You commented about it by agreeing with it. Your need to play word games just shows how vacuous and empty your rationalizations are.!

You and the projections of your own faults.

The irony.

You responded to the wrong guy and can't admit it.

It's ok. The pain of your perceived loss will fade eventually.

I say perceived because I don't consider any civil exchange a win/loss situation.

There is an clear need for some kind of mentally manufactured gain out of this somehow when you aren't even responding to the right person.

I acknowledge the expressed psychological delusional need to project and exposed lunacy you appear to be fixated upon displaying.

Good luck with all that.

Apparently, Sheriff Clarke also has plagiarist to add to his resume.

Sheriff David Clarke plagiarized portions of his master's thesis on homeland security

Not so fast. From Plagiarism Today.com:

In every case listed, Clarke did cite his source. However, he failed to indicate that the copied text was quotes and, instead, presented it as his own writing.

When reading the text and comparing it to the source, it’s pretty clear what happened. Clarke, when writing his thesis, engaged in some very sloppy writing practices. He copied and pasted text from the source material but failed to change it, leaving in passages from the source material but not indicating that it’s quote [sic]. https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2017/05/22/the-david-clarke-plagiarism-scandal/

My immediate reaction when I read about this yesterday was astonishment that the Naval Post Graduate School either doesn't have a thesis clerk or has the world's worst.

But the good news, if you're into schadenfreude anyway, is that this will probably cost Clarke his DHS appointment.

Who did he murder, and when we're charges administered? What medals does he wear, and which ones are fake? Surely, your not engaging in hyperbole, right?

I am not.

He instituted a policy of dehydration as a punishment, which literally killed people.

He never served in the military. Technically it's not stolen valor because he never claimed to have served in the military. But he wears what are clearly meant to be military-style medals... have you not seen those photos?

I think maybe you are now that I read that last reply.

There was no policy of dehydration as punishment. The dehydration death was due to a single person forgetting to log that the water had been turned off after the prisoner flooded his cell. The grand jury also recommended charges against his supervisor for not checking. Are you sure you are thinking of the same case?

Never claimed stolen valor. You claimed they were fake, but don't seem to be able to support your claim. Police wear badges and medals all the time for public appearances, funerals, special events, etc. They look nothing like military medals or badges; why would you make such a claim? Can you produce military medals that are similar?

Which is plagiarism.

"In every case listed, Clarke did cite his source." The thesis clerk should have instantly caught the failure to cite correctly and kicked the thesis back immediately.

yes, that should have happened
but that does not absolve clark of having tendered a thesis which violated the plagiarism provisions

he should have to remove one of the gold stars from his uniform as punishment
