'Chelsea Manning, the former Army intelligence analyst behind one of the largest classified information leaks in US history, was released from military prison early Wednesday morning, an Army spokeswoman said.

Manning was convicted in 2013 of stealing 750,000 pages of documents and videos before leaking them to WikiLeaks.'

I do not know every, single detail about the case...but I think I know at least as much as most people.

And I am generally pleased she is out.

Not thrilled, but generally pleased.

And I do not much care if you are not.

Edit: Never mind then. You don't care.

Good. I am not of the opinion she should have gotten off completely, but I do think she has served enough time.

I could care less ... "It" should just go away and stay out of the News.

That is kinda where I am at on this.

He/she probably should have served some time. But enough is enough.

I look forward to Chelsea joining DP and Renae counselling her.

Renae would prefer her back in prison for betraying her country, and her duty as a member of the Army. I have.. zero tolerance for such.

Making room for Trump :)

Good. She should have done time, yes, but not the rest of her life. I'll ignore the sex change....that it was done on our dime was a crime, but not her crime.

I think she should have done time to sell the image that whistle blowing is a risk. So that people don't try this sorta thing over every little offense they see...that they are only willing to risk it for something truly bad, truly heinous.

The person should stay in jail.

Much too early to let that person out.

I have no sympathy for her or what she did.

But if she has served her time, then she has served her time. Let that be the end of it.

I’ve no doubt she’d love to stay out of the news. Your anger should be aimed at the tabloid trash and paparazzi who are undoubtedly stalking her as we speak to try to generate the next money-making headline.

Well said.

For how much time? Life? Chelsea has spent more time for whistle-blowing than pretty much all others who've done similar.

It would certainly reduce the number of people who spied on their country if they knew it would cost them their sex organs.

I'm surprised people are so lenient on a person placed in a position of trust with American secrets large and small, and it's "no big deal".

At what point do we stop.

IMO, it was egregious enough that at the least, she should have served her time and possibly been paroled through normal channels, and not getting a nod of approval by a commutation from Obama. But that's Obama giving the nation one more insult.

I wonder how long before Miss Muffet gets a bullet between the 36c's?

Chelsea Manning is not a "whistle blower", she was a reckless, traitorous little twit who took and spilled hundreds of thousands of classified documents, not knowing AT ALL what information they contained, all because the Army wasn't sensitive enough about her gender identities. And to say she has "served her time" is also inaccurate, as she's getting out now only because Obama commuted her sentence on his way out the door.

Snowden is a "whistle blower" because he only leaked what was necessary in order to expose dubious government programs and actions. To call Chelsea Manning a "whistle blower" is to bastardize what the term actually means.

She didn't ****ing whistle blow, she stole classified materials and released them. That's not whistleblowing.

She should of been freed long ago. She is a legitimate whistleblower that exposed war crimes.

how does one whistle blow correctly?

Let's see, start with NOT RELEASING PUBLICLY CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS. Also, the US Military has a Chain of Command, you bring it up the chain, that's how it works.

Her treatment was basically torture too...

Okay  Tell your commanders that they're abusing their power. That will get you places with them.. sure
