After 4 tries, North Korea claims it has successfully launched a nuclear ballistic missile - a weapon that is capable of delivering nuclear warheads:

North Korea says it launched missile that can carry nuclear warhead | Fox News

The communist dictatorship's official Korean Central News Agency said the Hwasong-12, launched early Sunday Korea time, was "capable of carrying a large-size heavy nuclear warhead."

Earlier Sunday, officials told Fox News that the U.S. military believes Pyongyang launched a KN-17 medium-range ballistic missile — the first successful test in four attempts for the Pyongyang regime.

North Korea made three attempts last month to launch the KN-17, but failed each time. Officials believe North Korea aspires to use the missile to target ships.

The missile flew for half an hour and reached an unusually high altitude before landing in the Sea of Japan, the South Korean, Japanese and U.S. militaries said.

So after all this crap about, "Saddam may one day get nukes! Invade and kill him NOW! Don't stop and think - or we'll all be dead from Saddam nuking us! Invade NOW! Kill him NOW! Hang him NOW!"...

... we're now at "Oh, the Norks have nuclear missiles and warheads? And they can deliver them onto cities? ... (yawn) .... This is unfortunate, but it's really quite a complex situation... we'll have to schedule some meetings about this... eventually... once there's an open date on the calendar...(yawn)"

I expect it to be the same with the Putin thing too, eventually. "Hillary didn't get elected? And so I didn't get my welfare state? Kill Putin NOW! He must hang for this! NOW!"...

... which will eventually turn into "Oh, President Hillary has managed to overthrow Putin and collapse Russia -- and Russian WMD are now being sold to rogues who are threatening to use them... darn it, that's unfortunate, but the situation is really terribly complex... we'll have to schedule some meetings to discuss it one day... after I cash my welfare cheques first, of course - gotta stay with the priorities"

uh huh......... ok??????

I don't know what the heck the administration is doing at this point......whatever. *shrug*

I don't even know why I posted this.

Meh, I wasn't impressed with Saddam's Nukes either. They would have to be seriously messed up to think their limited capabilities hold a candle in the wind to the US or Russia. Not only can we knock their missiles out of the air, we can hit hit em back a thousandfold. At this point, we are so far ahead of the game its pointless to worry about the Johny come lately's.

I mean the only reason NK is still a country is China. Once they turn the other way, we can Seal Team 6 the whole command structure. Wouldn't be hard.

Wait how did this become about Hillary

This is just the little runt crying for attention. But don't fear. Trump will soon meet with Kim Jong-Um and the two will begin a bromance. Trump will have nothing but good to say about him. And we will probably give some aid to NK.

Saddam had nukes?

Lot's of people derided Bush for making those claims about Iraq. Not liberals though, they danced in the streets and celebrate the pointless War In Iraq. The claims fell apart for anyone with knowledge of History. Israel completely obliterated Iraq's nuclear abilities and had no facilities capable of making nuclear weapons.

NK has had a nuclear development program for decades and focuses most of their resources into military development. This is absolutely not surprising to anyone. It would be terrible but also ironic if they nuclear bomb Tokyo.

Hence the need to avoid conducting foreign policy (eg. war) that is centered around catering to foreign extra-territorialist lobbies, and instead have a foreign policy centered around America's interests (aka. "America First")

By doing this, then we don't suffer the pitfalls of fighting everybody else's wars for them, to keep them safe while America's security is left to go to hell in a handbasket.

The heavier the payload, the bigger the boom:

“This was a single-stage liquid rocket but it was still using high-energy fuel, so it probably had a really great range,” said Melissa Hanham of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation in California, after poring over the North Korean photos. “This is the longest-range intermediate range ballistic missile they have shown us, and it could be part of an ICBM,” she said.

David Wright, co-director of the global security program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, said the missile appeared to have reached an apogee of about 1,240 miles.

If it had been launched on a standard trajectory, it would have a technical range of 2,800 miles, he said. That would easily put the U.S. territory of Guam within range.

Aussies are getting nervous:

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has again urged China to pressure North Korea to end its nuclear missile testing as the rogue state launched another rocket on Sunday.

Danced in the streets to celebrate it? You people were calling us literal traitors for not "GETTIN BEHIND ARE PRESIDENT"

Big deal.

They can develop ICBM's that can hit Washington (which they eventually will, I assume) - again, so what?

They will NEVER use them.

If they do, they know they will be obliterated within an hour or so by a counter attack.

It's just North Korea flexing it's whittle muscles. This show of 'force' is probably more for their starving masses - to reassure them that they are 'on the case' - than for anyone else.

Oh course, U.S. neocons love this stuff to try and justify more money thrown at the MIC (military Industrial Complex).

I am honestly FAR more afraid of American neocons than I am of that fat guy with the weird hairdo in NK.

Rogues operate by different standards. Once they have a deterrent to hide behind, they can feel free to engage in all sorts of bad behavior.

For one thing, they won't just keep their nukes - they'll sell them to other rogues - anything Pyongyang has, will get sold to Iran, or Syria, etc - like they did with Scud-C's.

What deterrent? They would NEVER use nukes. Hell, Hitler had all the deadly gas you could ever need and he did not unleash it (except on the poor Jews) even when he knew he was going to die...and he was about as nuts as leaders get.
But owning nukes does not mean the North can invade the South, because they KNOW they will lose that war. The South is FAR more powerful conventionally than the North.

For one thing, they won't just keep their nukes - they'll sell them to other rogues - anything Pyongyang has, will get sold to Iran, or Syria, etc - like they did with Scud-C's.

Why would Syria want nukes? They can't use them. Jeez - look how the world freaked out over a few sarin gas shells (that I personally do not even think Assad launched)? The entire world would go completely ape **** if Assad used nukes.
And I am not afraid of Iran in the slightest. I trust them a hell of a lot more than I do Saudi Arabia. And forget them using nukes either - they know Israel/America would obliterate them if they did.
And forget the nonsense about 'they would kill themselves to destroy Israel'. The exact same thing was said about the Soviet Union towards America/West. And nothing ever happened. Leaders love power...not suicide.

Finally, no country would EVER be dumb enough to sell nukes to terrorists. Terrorists ARE usually insane (to some extent). And their loyalties change with the wind. If you sell a nuke to a terrorist - you have no way of knowing that those same terrorists might not one day use it against you.

LOL You believe the strangest things and you have added a new one. Little Kim is no more suicidal than Putin is. Calm down.

One lady with her arms up kindof.

Who, by the way, is dressed like a conservative. Not conclusive evidence, but evidence. ;)
