That's stupid. If accuracy is somehow a problem for his surrogates, then they need to be given the accurate information before they go out to those press briefings.
I doubt that would be very difficult.
It's easy... when the President isn't an incompetent goon.
Trump created the communications mess. He fired Comey, without giving his communications department any notice, and on a day when the press secretary was not available (Spicey was on duty with the Naval Reserve).
As a result, it took Sen Schumer about 1 hour to present a coherent criticism, while it took the WH 3 hours to come up with a ****-show that failed to justify the action.
To make matters worse, the WH has been a total mess about subsequent messaging, in no small part because Trump lives in his own invented reality, and can't stick to the story. First, he was fired because of how he handled Clinton -- a laughable claim. Then, it was the DoJ pushing to fire him. Then, the leaks started in, saying that Trump has been fuming about Comey, how Comey refused to swear personal loyalty to Trump, and so on. Pence got in on the action, pushing the DoJ story. Then, Trump
refutes his own team's messaging, proclaiming that Comey was a "showboat" and that Trump wanted to fire him no matter what.
Naturally, Trump is incapable of admitting -- heck, just
perceiving -- any mistakes on his part. So, he blames the press for... actually reporting what he did and said.
I still can't believe this malignant narcissist got elected. STILL.
