Time will tell. I wasn't a big Comey fan. And his s=misstatements the other day certainly didn't help his case. But, sometimes firing the FBI director comes back to haunt you.
 
This is something that happens in authoritarian regimes in third wold or totalitarian regimes. Trump is a complete and utter fascist.

Outside of the "just us" system that is called perjury. Covering for the AG (by saying that he decided not to prosecute) who just happened to have had a private chat with the hubby of someone under FBI investigation was enough to make me doubt Comey was "just doing his job" without regard to Hillary's (or his own) position. The lack of intent BS was boldly asserting that the head of a very security conscious federal agency had no clue about classified data recognition or its proper handling and was simply beyond belief.

Really? Can you dial back the hyperbole a bit. I laughed so hard people started looking at me funny.
 
If there are any Trump supporters who believe he fired Comey because of his handling of Hillary Clinton I have a 20 year veteran of working in a house of prostitution that is a virgin I would like to introduce you to. And she has four kids.

Comey got to close to Trump in his investigation so Trump fired him to protect his own sorry ass. That indeed is the kind of thing that happens in authoritarian regimes.

How many times in American history has the President fired the investigator who was investigating him?

The answer is ONCE.
