U.S. Republican Graham curious on Trump business deals | Reuters

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on Tuesday he wants to know more about President Donald Trump's business dealings in relation to Russia, but that congressional investigations may have to avoid the matter if they conflict with an FBI probe.

Graham asked former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing on Monday whether he had concerns about Russian ties to Trump's business interests. Clapper said he could not comment because the issue could be a subject of an ongoing investigation.

CNN reported on Tuesday that Graham intended to look into Trump's business ties to see if any connections exist between Russia and the Trump campaign or the president's associates.

The White House said it would welcome any fact-finding by Graham and the subcommittee, which he chairs, saying the president has no business ties to Russia.

"He has no business in Russia; he has no connections to Russia," White House spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters. "So he welcomes that."

I've been calling for Trump to adhere to protocol and release his tax returns and it looks like Graham hasn't taken a subpeona off the table. The most curious part to me, was Clapper's refusal to answer, whether or not he has knowledge of Trump business ties in Russia, because it would interfere with an ONGOING FBI investigation.

Trumper's can't wish this away with fake news and "well partisans like you would." Looks like Graham holds the majority opinion in America... We want Trump to have transparency, and we have never been as alarmed about potential self-dealing as we are with Donald Trump, billionaire rich kid who thinks the world is his toy.

Even if Graham subpoenaed President Trump's tax returns, he still can't go public with them. I doubt he could even subpoena them; legally, anyway.

How is it irrelevant? You can't see how Russian banks being heavily invested in someone would be relevant to that someone holding public office?

They can subpoena his tax returns, they may need them if they want to proceed with impeachment hearings.

I doubt they can subpoena them out of curiosity. They would probably need to begin impeachment hearings, first.

Don't you have enough to worry about in your own life rather than worrying about Trump's tax returns or business dealings? How do any of those affect job creation, economic activity, or national security TODAY? Unlike you, I really don't care what he made, what he paid in taxes, or who he dealt with but rather the results he is generating now for jobs, economic growth, and national security. let me know how any of those things you are worried about affect those items?

You bet I am, Obama left us with almost a 20 trillion dollar debt, 19.9 trillion, a 9.6% U-6 rate, and 1.6% GDP growth. Why shouldn't we be alarmed?

As for the Russian deal again I am waiting for what the left thinks happened and how that will hurt the country? Seems that no one on the left ever took civics and learned about the three equal branches of government

Thank you but what you are doing isn't funny. Tell me exactly what YOU THINK TRUMP DID THAT WAS ILLEGAL and how that affects the economy, jobs, national security.

What bothers me is how poorly informed people are and how they buy the media spin. Trump has done absolutely nothing illegal and although I don't like his rhetoric I certainly like his results. Right now the UE rate is the lowest since 2007 and the U-6 is down to 8.6, please tell me when the last time it was that low? Also Trump inherited a 19.9 TRILLION Debt that is now 19.8 Trillion and a GDP that was 1.6%.

Maybe you ought to do better research

I'm far from convinced that Obamas weaponized IRS did not view and share Trumps tax returns among key administration officials. The temptation is too great, and if there was anything damaging it would have been leaked.
