ObamaCare Architect Blames Trump for Law's Failures

ObamaCare cost spike is Trump?s fault, ACA architect Gruber says | Fox News

" ObamaCare co-architect Jonathan Gruber -- who infamously said “the stupidity of the American voter” helped get the measure to become law -- now blames Trump for rising premium costs.

“Whose fault is this?” Gruber asked on “Fox News Sunday.” “Since President Trump has been elected … premiums are going up and insurers are exiting.”

Gruber, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics professor, argued that perceived rising premium costs are really a one-time increase in 2016 to cover “massively underpriced” policies for the first two years of the 2010 law. "

He also said the increase “fixed” the problem because insurance companies then showed signs of profitability and talked optimistically about continued participation in the program. "

Are you ****ing ****ting me ??!! Clearly Jonathon Gruber's opionions about the American people being a bunch of idiots hasn't changed one bit and as for insurance companies profitiabillity ?

GAO found Obama admin illegally diverted over 21 billion dollars from the Treasury to struggling " profitable " insurance companies..

Sorry, dude. It started failing long before Trump ever entered the scene.

I'm surprised the liberals haven't claimed that the ACA website rollout disaster wasn't because of "The Russians".

Indeed. Gruber lost all his credibility when he was recorded publicly stating that the electorate was stupid, and that ObamaCare had to purposefully be constructed to be sold to that 'stupid' electorate.

Lies always fall apart in the end, just as ObamaCare has.

The Democrats seem to be blaming the Russians on everything else. Why should this be any different?

That's impossible. The ACA is an economic powerhouse that drives down health insurance premiums. Insurers love it and so do the people enrolled. That's what the Democrats have always told us and nothing Trump does could stop something so universally beloved.

Yeah, Obamacare is super awesome... but it dies if you don't force people to use it?

Yeah, that is one thing the Democrats never seemed to have a grasp on. All of the propaganda is the world can't change what Americans were experiencing first hand. All it managed to do was energize those who received free healthcare, and those who were rich enough to be shielded from the effects of the law. The rest of the people in the middle class were getting soaked.

I hear they're working on a new "It's the Russians fault we're blaming the Russians" campaign

Indeed. ObamaCare's purpose was setting the expectation that many would receive healthcare insurance (notice, insurance is not healthcare itself) who hadn't had it before, and have someone else pay for it (always ends up being the middle class).

The other disconnect was the words of care and concern about the shrinking middle class that Obama and the Dems were mouthing.
Soaking the middle class to pay for healthcare insurance for those without isn't conducive to growing the middle class. So a negative impact on the middle class.

Even more of a disconnect is the ObamaCare 30 hour rule, as it pertains to a small business required to provide healthcare insurance. Many of those in the minority community have hourly jobs that don't have healthcare insurance. Those same people who count of more than 30 hours a week pay to make ends meet found their hours were cut to 30 per week to avoid the healthcare insurance obligation. So a negative impact on the minority communities.

Seems pretty clear that the negative impacts of ObamaCare weren't fully considered. Must be the rose color glasses once again.

Maybe the middle class should sacrifice a bit of time away from their leisure activities and form their own political party. The Reps pander to the wealthier 25%, the Dems pander to the poorer 25%, someone needs to represent the middle 50%.

Wouldn't he be the one presently in the White House?

I'm left with the recollection that Turmp's campaign was much in alignment with the working middle class and their concerns.

Are you looking at words or actions?

Too many people listen to words then rationalize the actions.

Looking at a fair bit of both.

Seems that you have some concerns or specific instances where there's a big disconnect. Care to share?

Fun fact,

Jonathon Gruber was hired by Vermont ( paid 400 thousand dollars ) to run the numbers on their Single payer law that their Governor signed into law in 2011.

According to Gruber, " Green Mountain Care " was going to save the State over a billion dollars over 10 years

Ofcourse green mountain care was scrapped because it was absolutely not going to save the State money. It was going to add another 1.5 Billion dollars to their annual budget
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...er-health-plan-was-doomed-from-the-start/amp/

He never gave Vermont their money back either

So a serial fraudster, this Gruber guy (much like the previous administration and president).
OK. Why am I not surprised in the least?

A general and overall disconnect observed throughout my lifetime. The biggest example being Congress having a 90% disapproval rating and a 90% re-election rate.

I'd agree that's a big disconnect, best summarized by disapproval other other guys congressman, and not your own.

I'll admit, I was hoping for something Trump specific that I might not be aware of.
